First of all, love the user name.
Second, I'm not saying it's an easy job (I come from a family with police members). Obviously there needs to be more reforms than we can fathom on a simplistic knee jerk level. Look at how many fucks we have to thank for their service yet we throw them in the gutter as soon as any negative consequence arrises. I honestly doubt that as a species we have the ability to fix the serious issues we face as they're stupidly complex and compounded by decades if not centuries of fuckery but if there's a single chance that rioting around the world will fix it, I'll take it.

My exposure was from dating a cops daughter for a while, but my general rule is unless you want to be the one who responds to the report of an odd smell and discover the bloated corpse of a two week old dead toddler you should cut cops some slack. Not by fetishizing them, but the same basic respect due a cleaner or garbageman for doing the shit your soft soy ass couldn't handle
