He's cobbled together an assemblage of trendy social media mannerisms vaguely shaped like a personality. Imitating a shallow celebrity persona in his pathetic attempts to be quirky and relatable and only succeeding at being an incompetent doppelganger of what he thinks "cool guys" act like.
He's just sad. He needs to wake up and lower his standards and expectations. There is a show in the UK called 'The Undatables' where a mix of people with all sorts of disabilities are set up with each other on dates. They need a version of that show in the US. It would be perfect for him to go on.

He needs to forget the 9s and 10s instathots. 9s and 10s would like people in the music industry, sure. Successful producers, musicians and singers. Keyword: Successful. Personality and appearance aside, his music just isn't good. The successful people in the biz are also people who dress well, look after themselves, go out and party, drink alcohol and probably do lines of coke each weekend.

Not some oddball who thinks a glass of Martinelli's sparkling cider is the finest way to celebrate.

If he realised that and stopped these ridiculous delusions of grandeur he has, he might have a chance of finding someone.

Might. (Unlikely.)

There's no proof that the Greers are helping Russhole financially with anything aside from hiring him a lawyer for his upcoming harassment suit. Russ lives in West Jordan, which is a fairly shitty suburb in the Salt Lake area. Lots of meth heads, border jumping beaners, etc. He's also living a very basic bitch life in a shitty apartment with few debts, hobbies, or expenses. There's no reason he couldn't afford the rent in that apartment, even with a Costco or Walmart job.

When it comes to speds that are high functioning, most parents want to allow them their independence, whether it's living on their own, or just converting a part of their home into their own apartment. Rusty, despite his poor decision making, is capable of living on his own. He's proven that he can manage his money when it comes to establishing a hooker fund, and that he can keep himself fed via junk food. The only time parents of speds ever get involved is when their kid royally fucks up and they have to clean up the mess they made. In the case of the Greers, they seem perfectly content with letting Rusty live on his own due to his antics, but unfortunately, those same antics require them to come to his rescue when things go off the deep end.

You just know this is where he got that whole "I dance and that makes me inspiring" schtick from. Just lacking the charm, rhythm and actual enjoyment of it.

I've attached the "first draft" of his screenplay for October's Uprising. Knowing Russell, there's probably no second draft. I haven't read it but the consensus around here was that it's incredibly boring, which is why it doesn't get mentioned much.

Maybe if she was a toothy Instathot with fake tits, Russ might pretend to have some sympathy.
Made it 5 pages in and had to stop reading.

The Holocaust opening was very cringe, but once it cut to 2003 i dipped out.

I think you might be right. It's like he viewed this video, shit it out into a tard-filter, and tried to mimic it in his AGT audition videos.

But why did this dude get so much attention when Russ didn't? Dude didn't even write a cool song nor can he use his legs for really nifty dance moves and jumping. It must be because Russ is disabl...wait..

What's there a reason some words are in all caps? Is it something to do with writing a screenplay or is it some writing quirk of Russ?

There are different practices from my experience, but generally characters, and sometimes props etc. are written in caps.

Probably Russ: "He doesn't have it as hard as me because he can speak clearly!"

Nobody cares about your background

Not to PL, but I'm a paid, script reader for a well-known coverage company and out of unmitigated boredom I gave it an unbiased, first pass read (read until you feel comfortable with your impression, score it). Congrats Russell, you save about $15 by compulsively hate-stalking this thread.

Bland and generally inoffensive war/Holocaust story that's pulled from 'mediocre' to 'downright terrible' by some truly baffling plotting and utterly incompetent pacing. The first 20-25 pages, which are absolutely the most important for any kind of read, are convoluted, with constant jump cuts and poorly connected scenes. The poor formatting doesn't help. The stakes are high, which is good, and the conflict has gravity but every scene is treated as climactic instead of a sense of the action rising and falling with authorial intent. From a birds-eye view, the plot isn't bad, but the actual structure completely undermines any potential it may have otherwise had. Other than that, this really has nothing to say. It's hollow and calculated, with little in the way of creativity.

How does Russ's "masterpiece" stack up against other amateur scripts you've read? Is it one of the worst, or is there someone out there with even less talent than Russ?

The problem is screenwriting has no barrier for participation in the global marketplace so there's an ocean of scripts and most are terrible. From a technical standpoint, Russ is average to slightly above average, but from a creative/storytelling standpoint, he's a hack in a world of hacks. I've read thousands of scripts and I would much rather a spirited fuckup than a safe, boring, soulless, cynical piece designed to appeal to the broadest base.

This industry sucks. It's brutal, cutthroat, and overcrowded. If you really want to do it, you need to have something to say, and it needs to be something only you can say. After this many reads, you can just tell someone who's trying to slither in, versus someone who is in it for the love of storytelling. Passion and voice can be more important at this level, because you can solve things like dialogue and structure on rewrites, but Russ has neither so he has no foundation to work off.

So yeah, he's baseline competent, but he has no love for it and as a result he has no drive to work on the craft. You have to earn the right to be a bland, cynical hack.

I've come to realise everything russ does is based on - "I'm fabulous at this because I did it/disability score". He thinks because hes done something he excels at it, and is a whyle-coyote supergeniusth because pity makes up for technical achievement. He puts all these achieves down because once hes done it once, its a foregone conclusion its a done-deal, 100% PhD level genius achievement. What a cockflute. As others have said before me if he tried, he could maybe make something of a passable career at piano/music if he wasnt so up his own arse about it.

And since he thinks it's pure genius, he sees no reason to try to improve himself like other people would. When someone suggested he start locally and write songs for local bands, he was actually offended. He's Russell Greer, above the teeming masses, the normal conventions don't apply to him and how dare you suggest they do!

His total contempt for local small-time musicians is one of my favorite parts of him auditioning for AGT.

He's just doing a video audition submitted by email like his infamous PowerPoint one. But then he just expects to instantly throw together a full performing band to play live on national TV from random people he recruits from Facebook.

And this is the same Russ who outright refuses to work with local bands or musicians and who has never performed live. And he believes he'll have his own fully professional stage-ready band within a week or however much time between passing the audition and the first live performance round, which I'd assume takes place in LA.

It's pretty clear he intends to either:

A. ) Win the entire show outright (and bag Heidi Klum) with his audition video.

Or

B. ) Get a "thanks for trying" letter from NBC and then try to sue for discrimination.

It's fairly obvious which scenario will happen, but I just want to see the audition tape. Russ dancing around in a suit with shades and a keytar to a song about how women are whores who don't like nice guys will make my whole year.

Gee, I sure hope getting arrested and tried for harassment doesn't throw a wrench into his plans. I don't think he's really factoring that in, or he if is, he's being totally quiet about it.

He seems to have a childish mindset that talent is something someone has, like a possession. He is convinced that since he can pull off the lowest level achievements in a creative field that he therefore has talent, and any output he has shit out is worthy of reward. And he will not be bothered to do anything resembling “trying” to succeed, that’s for losers without talent. So he occasionally shits out new material and waits for his pussy and financial rewards

Whereas an actual creative person lives for the practicing, lives for any sort of lessons not because they don’t know but because they want to know MORE. They like to work with others, to riff. They create multiples beyond what they ultimately publish.

Someone who’s almost 30 and creates out of love versus to be a famewhore simply would not have such a blasé attitude toward his craft. There are careers or even hobbies to be had without being the vocalist/frontman, there are people who do odd gigs here and there because piano makes them happy. I have zero talent myself but live in a major metro area and love going to small venue/bar gigs and no one is getting rich from it but these are people who just love to play and are happy.

Russell is just never going to be happy, beyond sex I don’t think there is anything this creep likes doing.
