I think there's a big distinction between having a fetish and living out your fetish 24/7.

This is something that baffles me. How can someone live their fetish 24/7? Is it because they have nothing else to base their lives on? Because the community promotes this kind of behaviour? Or because they need constant validation to avoid seeing how stupid they are?
Because any sane person would end up burnt out if they did this constantly, but these people delve further into this crap, making them even worse.

That was an interesting read. Overly cute anime full of stereotyped femininity as catalyst for gender dysphoria in maladjusted young men could make sense. However, I think that only works if the foundation is already unstable, as in a weak/no sense of self and black and white thinking which you can find very often in personality disorders. Cluster B Personality Disorders are still the driving forces for this shit, imo.
Also, why abolish gender if it doesn't exist anyways?

Because some people might cling to this outdated and barbaric idea that men and women are physically different and that their brains work different, making it the baseline for gender differenciation in the human species. You gotta illuminate those uncultured masses.
I would ask how they support themselves, but that's a moot point seeing how their parents enable them or they have a lover that also enables them blindly.
One would wish they would get out of their bubble and lived in the real world, but that would be too much to ask.

Oh, a lot of these people have jobs. Either they find a place that will cater to their desires -- a lot of large corporations are very accomodating of these things because they don't want to be targeted by the Internet Hate Machine -- or they keep it kindasorta under wraps while in public.
I think a lot of them prefer to do the latter, though. Because it gives them material to whine about dysphoria on twitter.

On the one hand the idea being historically civil rights often followed minority participation in the armed forces, but this to me was a bit of a whitewashed perspective, especially considering those rights never actually materialized.

I don't wanna get conspiratorial but I have long suspected that part of the reason the political establishment is going along with all this delusional crap is due to TRAs having blackmail material on kinky politicians. Because there is no way a sane person would go along with this crap out of their own free will unless someone was holding the proverbial gun to their head. We already know that the TRAs are perfectly willing to destroy academics, researchers, artists, doctors, activists, journalists, etc that get in their way, that they even consider their enemies' children to be fair game, so why would they stop at politicians? I am picking up strong Ides of March vibes here.
