I think 40K is so gleefully over-the-top violent and lacking in any kind of normalcy that touchy-feely types have difficulty finding purchase on it. There are no diplomatic solutions to interpersonal conflicts in the Grim Darkness of the Far Future. There's Only War, etc. For example, Orks are barbaric ultraviolent inhuman monsters whose entire existence revolves around war and fighting and slaughtering one another if an enemy isn't present. And they're the setting's comedy relief.

Another reason is that the culture built around it doesn't take itself very seriously. Yeah, the setting is grimdark out the ass and no good deed goes unpunished, but despite all the lore-sperging the online 40K community is solidly planted in the "we're here to make memes and have fun" mindset. And since despite the plot moving forward so GW can sell new overpriced plastic sprues the game is essentially geared to work around Your Dudes™. It has a highly unreliable narrator and an attitude of "if you don't like it, change it yourself". So you want to create whole chapter of flamboyantly gay Space Marines? Or female Space Marines? Or dickgirl Space Marines literally fucking Slaaneshi demons into submission with Power Dicks (Sx2, AP-4, 6s to hit auto-wound)? Knock yourself out, Your Dudes™ will fit right in alongside the Angry Marines and the Adeptus Orthodontus. Just get ready to be made fun of by the other people in the fandom.

40K doesn't have hard rules that the SJWs can try to wield like a club to assert dominance over others (their usual tactic), and the online community is far too old and white and humor-centric for then to build a good beachhead. Let's hope that sticks.

Oh man, I actually really like this character. I could see this (girl?) being some wild hobo who everyone writes off as batshit and freakish but right when the script needs it, the hobo's ramblings actually make sense. Like her non-sequiturs actually apply for once and are just what the main character needs to hear. I love how gross and drugged out she looks and how she looks like the human version of a crippling addiction to weed.

I hope she realizes that this means that Raymond is still a cis dude and not an uwu twans boi like in her previous art of him (because GNC is the term people use these days for tomboys and the like, not for trans folk).

This makes him a crossdresser and nothing else (even if she's giving him those eyelashes, because of course she did).
 
You ever notice how on tumblr fan art even the most benign ones always have one or two characters that are blackwashed? Even if the other characters resemble their canonical designs and don't have other "tumblrisms" on them.

Hermione Granger, the Scarlet Witch, Mary Jane, a lot of Kingdom Hearts characters, or now Ariel are for the most part always drawn as "POC" in tumblr art, even when they're resembled to be pale motherfuckers in their canon media, and nothing suggests them to be "brown" in their source material. Is this some sorta "now they're black cause we say so and if you draw them resembling canon it's as bad as whitewashing" line of thought? Placing headcanon above canon?

Nah, GNC trans boys are a thing, and it means exactly what you think it does. Case in point, Stray Sheep thread in the tumblr subforum.

Also, I find it funny that all you have to do to turn Maid Raymond from broke to woke is to slap the 'gender nonconforming' label on the art.

the thing is, the people who make these headcanons for popular characters that theyre gay or whatever, 90% of the time they arent even gay

theyre confused teens just looking for labels to make them look unique and rebellious. all the "gay guys" on tumblr are transboys who read too much yaoi, and all the "lesbians" on twitter would never actually eat a pussy because the thought terrifies them

Everyone goes through a cringy phase as a kid, I most certainly did as a lol-so-random teen but I hope like many other young adults, the impressionable kids ditch the rainbow to find their own identity without all of the labelling crap.

Unlike random humour, you can't just simply make fun of it because if you made fun of the Q+ madness then you're a homophobe and it gives them a sense of victimhood and cause more people to join in an attempt to fight ists and phobes just by using the labels and making god-forsaken art like this.

The best way of how to defeat them is to not give their pleads for attention the time of day, or, show that no one is falling for their pleads and laugh at them on a forums site, known as Kiwifarms dot net.
