Ethan has made himself into a joke. I remember OGCG when there were zero "pros" willing to stick their necks out for fans until Ethan came along and graciously offered to sacrifice his career for millions of dollars.
His beta orbiters started arriving on the scene shortly thereafter and EVS began singling out literal nobodies like Darryl Ayo for criticizing him.
That's when the fake accounts started appearing in other peoples names just like that kid Ethan picked on years ago for gay-hitting on him where Ethan tried to bully him into suicide.

Capn Cummings a former confidant turned whistle-blower about Ethans gay ops and now a pariah of modern pyramid scheme CG is again calling it like he sees it.
He's been evicerating the Breitweisers over the past few days because of their scam. Its no secret Ethan and Mitch met in real life to discuss the business model they wanted for CG.
While they couldn't see eye to eye on moving forward Ethan had knowledge that Mitch was about to butt fuck his backers in favor of the corporate model of comic sales.
Instead of calling Mitch out on this Ethan allowed him to quietly back out of the limelight and make off with 200k, none of which was used to actually create the comic book.
Cummings mentions how triggered Mitch gets when anyone talks about his uber-fuckable wife so that needs to be mentioned also. She's hot as balls and crazy to boot.
Ethan has a long history of backstabbing fans that dare to have an opinion different than his own. He's alienated almost everyone who had his back when he was being drummed out of the industry.
To paraphrase pink Floyd he traded a walk on part in the war for a lead role in a cage.
The road he and Mitch chose, while different, are both dead-ends. Both chose to fuck over the fans that made them popular to begin with.
So many people have "julayed" the Allegience Arts phone number it's now disconnected and Ethan lives in a paranoid universe of assassination plots and both can't trust anyone now because it's likely a trolling plot.

He's got 4 different books on a custom sales rack at a price point of $5. That price point seems awfully high to me for an impulse buy a mother is to make to get one of her brats to shut him up for 15 minutes and read a funny book.

I would have thought they'd try to get the price down to around $3 to take advantage of economies of scale.

Part of the problem with the LCS model was that the comics were to expensive to make the model sustainable. I think this price point is going to be the downfall of Mitch's Walmart dreams.

I don't know about that.

The mainstream stuff suffers from the same price point issue if I understand correctly. Retail comic book sales were incredible by comparison in the 80's but they were priced to sell as impulse buys. A comic cost a little more than a chocolate bar so people would pick one up to occupy the kids on a drive home or just as a treat or whatever.

When the comic costs 5 times what a Snickers does people are less inclined to pick up a cat spanker. The comic industry needs to stop thinking of itself as a collectibles market. That happened in the 90's and it almost killed the industry then and has been dragging it down like quicksand ever since.

It was basic greed that led to price increases from about $1 to $3+ so quickly in the early 90's. The big 2 stopped worrying about ad sales and focused on non-returnable collector driven sales of books instead of advertising thinking it would last. When it didn't Marvel just about closed it's doors.

I don't see comics selling in variety retail stores like Walmart or even Dollar General unless the price is right to get parents buying them on impulse.

If Allegiance Arts is marketing to collectors instead they can expect their numbers to reflect indie sales numbers more than the near 6 figure numbers they need to sell in Walmart to make it work. They aren't selling Bat-Man, Spider-Man or even Deadpool at the same price to casual consumers. They're selling 25 page Bass Reeves and Norah's Saga at collector prices while 100 page Batman and Superman books at the same price are their competition. And the Batman book is priced to high to sell at $5+.

Selling in Walmart seems like a good idea to me but not at $5 a book when it's disposable entertainment.

Well, at least for $5 at Walmart they are guaranteed the book. If it were accurate to a ComicsGate book, you would purchase an IOU piece of paper with an indeterminate delivery date.

It's amazing to consider. Mitch stole money given to him by backers for the book to build a business that was designed to make content for a massive corporation. If that isn't the biggest middle finger to the customer, I don't know what is.
