My potential concern from Trump's pov is how much turnout can he get in Nevada. All these dumb cunts at state GOPs had to cancel primaries and caucuses, so they admitting that the whole 90% approval among republicans for Trump is a lie and keep in mind, Republicans run closed primaries.
I thought the dems did that in 2012? Also do you mean that the Rinos at the state level hate Trump still?

If it's a lie, why did he beat Reagan in Iowa with 97% and match Reagan in New Hampshire with 87%? State parties cancelling primaries for the incumbent is normal. The GOP did it for Bush, the Dems did it for Obama.

If you're reading it as a sign of weakness you're wrong. In fact, it's the opposite. The party is saying that they have so much confidence in the incumbent, they're not going to even entertain a challenger trying some funny business. And why waste money when the outcome is not in doubt?

Republicans don't determine open or closed, states do. New Hampshire was open.

And all of that is moot anyway. He won without Nevada last time. He could get 0% turnout there and it would affect nothing.

So why is the turnout so low this year? I thought the dems would fired up to take down Trump?

I mean, if the Dems had a candidate, I think they'd be doing better. As it is, the closest they have to a popular candidate is a literal socialist who had a heart attack on the campaign trail recently. Everyone else is either aggressively unpopular, or unknown, or deliberately being shut down by the party establishment, or some combination of the three.

Oh yeah, and the socialist's most serious opponent is the upper hierarchy of his own party. Here's Trump calling out the DNC for their shabby treatment of their frontrunner and straight-up saying he thinks Bernie will be the nominee "unless they cheat him out of it". When the guy you'll be running against talks about you better than the rest of your party, you've got a weird fight ahead of you.

The DNC really needs Warren to stay in to keep crazy Bernie from getting her votes. I don't see any of the moderates dropping since they all think they can convince the DNC to ratfuck Bernie and give them the nom in the case of a contested convention.
It's far too late for that.

The people on Twitter are definitely fired up. But, in one of the most stunning scientific developments of the last few years, it was recently discovered that Twitter is not reality.

"I'm not the other guy" elections don't tend to go very well for the person whose campaign is based around that fact, historically. Clinton had so few accomplishments of her own that Trump managed to put her in that position despite him being an outsider in terms of federal government.

Pete plagiarized from Obama. I see he took some cues from Melania

And yet... Hillary is still head and shoulders better than anyone in the field this go around.

Can you imagine Pocahontas on the debate stage with Trump creeping right behind her? For all her faults, Hillary is no push over. Figuratively, that is. Literally, she falls over all the time.

I so wanted to have a snappy derogatory retort for this but I can't think of one. As horrifying as it is...you're right.

President Trump shattered primary and caucus records in Iowa and New Hampshire for an incumbent president that stood for decades. He crushed the vote margin of victory by tens of thousands. What's the point other than practice and maybe maintaining some sort of rally energy for President Trump? When one candidate gets over 100,000 votes and nobody else put together can even get to 5000, what's the point?
I mean, its not like turnout for President Trump was bad, 120,000 people showed up to vote for him at one of these things. Of course total turnout is going to be down when the opposition candidate is Bill Weld!

I'm sure some would retort with "Oh, but it's made up by the fact you don't have to spend for healthcare". See, but what if you're relatively healthy? You go to the doctor 1 or 2 times a year. What if you'd like a less extensive healthcare and more cash towards a house, a car, a family, etc?

Well too bad! Daddy government is here to take half your paycheck to pay for those more irresponsible with their health. Just look at the obesity epidemic in the US, we know where those taxes are really going.

This didn't seem believable to me, so I searched to see what I could find. Of course, lots of things the Democrats have been saying lately are unbelievable.

https://www.factcheck.org/2020/02/sanders-didnt-call-for-52-tax-on-29000-incomes/
I'd figure even if that number were thrown out for a lower income than 8 digits, it would be taxed progressively so you don't pay much (or any) up to the 32k, and income after that gets taxed more and more heavily. I'd expect that the user base on such an intellectual site is familiar with how progressive income taxing works, so I won't go into detail. Suffice to say, even if it were true it wouldn't result in the $7.20 figure.

While true, running on a platform that includes a 52% tax (and that's just federal, I assume) is a good way to bleed moderates.

I go to the doctor once per decade.

Non-Russian Russian emigre Julia Ioffe (1982-10-18 ), of 4616 5th Street NW, Washington DC 20011, has been melting down as to how best respond to Bernie dunking on her favorite candidate, Michael Bloomberg, and the second best choice for her nation, Donald Trump.

Julia isn't sure whether she should be attacking Bernie on the basis of some fellow non-Russians in Russia saying that 'yes, Putin fired me, because I'm not Russian and hate Russia, but Putin definately thinks chaos is good'
1582578845100.png

attacking Bernie on the basis that there still some debate in the media as to whether propagandists (like herself) pretending that Russian electoral interference is even on the same order of magnitude of her own 'nation's interference, or people who aren't retarded or dishonest, are right about Russian election interference being a lame meme (thus causing chaos)

or just straight up shitting on actual Americans
