I didn't make it very far into that video because one, she's got the basic dumb girl speech inflections that make everything sound stupid; and two, she somehow managed to make her chosen cause, cancer, seem utterly trite and inconsequential, despite one grandfather having survived it and the other having died from it. Oh, no, wait--her grandfather didn't die; she lost him, and of course this "impacted [her] greatly," because it's all about her. She's reading from a script that she had time to think about and prepare, and yet she still makes watching her grandfather struggle through three rounds of lung cancer before dying a miserable fucking death sound as consequential as leaving her sweater on the bus. Christ almighty.

She neglected to mention the most recent cancer to plague her family, which just happens to be herself.

I think she should go on T. It'll wreck her voice, sure, but if she stays on it, it will also have the benefit of permanently wrecking her fertility. Given what mental dumpster fires troons are, I'm totally okay with their self-selecting for this particular eugenics program.

They seem to claim that they are demisexual (feeling sexual attraction to someone only after you get to know them on a deep emotional level or something like that?) but also class that under asexuality?? Honestly that's the first time I've ever heard those two grouped together, surely they cancel each other out by saying you're not attracted to anyone but also that you can be?

Emotional abuse is serious, but the stuff she spoke about there is BARELY even close. Someone tried to guilt you into doing something a few times? Sure that's shitty, but it's not really an abusive relationship. Sounds more like they grew apart and just became unhappy with each other. But of course in today's climate, it's abuse Olympics and everyone has to throw in their two cents of oppression. People like this are why it's so hard for people to recognise and accept when they're going through emotional abuse. It waters down the requirements so much that people will just assume actual abuse isn't that serious. I can say, power levels and all, that it took myself almost 25 years to recognise and accept that I had been experiencing severe emotional abuse for pretty much my whole life from a family member, all because I thought I would be seen as a whiny little shit for even saying my experience was even slightly bad.

But is that really surprising when someone takes some edgy death threats from a rando on twitter as a form of actual attempted murder? Sounds like if someone said to her jokingly 'dude just kill me lmao I wanna die' she would take it as suicide baiting and abusive behaviour.

The need to identify with asexuality as a label comes from people who live in well-to-do, smothering communities that really do look down on them for not getting with anyone or having kids (something being actually asexual directly prevents or makes so difficult that it's not worth it). Like someone in this thread said asexuality is like 1% otherwise regular people with no sex drive, and 99% straight people who want to take part in the queer community but feel left out.

Also, claiming an alternative sexuality that isn't homosexuality is an extremely easy way now to acquire belonging and e-hugs without having to change one single thing about your life. Do you want people on the internet to act like you're a good person? Just say you're a trans enby. You don't need to change your name, what you wear, what you look like or who you sleep with, but like magic you're now part of the oppressed masses and can make any sort of sociopolitical claims you want and anyone who questions you is attacking you for who you are

The closest thing I can think of that equates to being an enby is someone who wears whatever they want to wear, acts however they want to act, and likes whatever they like regardless of how "gendered" what they wear/like is and they don't get hissy when someone refers to them by a certain gender or name because they don't care. That's the bottom line I can think of; if someone really wanted to be androgynous or nonbinary or asexual, they simply wouldn't give a shit because it's not a label to them.

Also late and gay but there's NO way the boyfriend would've scraped past boot camp with all that shit he bragged about on his psych eval. I'm not sure about the navy but while the AF recruiter said "just lie if you think you have a problem, they're wanting an apex human", there's actual screenings and psych evals in, like, the first week of training and if you react remotely negatively to any of the questions, they pull you aside and you spend a whole day being asked if you're sure you know what you're doing there. If you pass that, one vague mention or even a joke about suicide or self-harm sets off alarms and you get one last time for them to ask "are you suicidal/do you want to hurt yourself/would you be okay if you quit the military", which is probably where he was at when we got the "shit that didn't happen with his MTI for 500, Alex" story. No, he wasn't some nuclear engineer in the navy. Bitch most likely didn't even get through boot camp.

Sorry, like I said late and gay but that shit bothers me. Also I'll be honest, I wasn't expecting Amanda to sound like that at all. I was also in the camp of "purposefully lowers voice/doesn't emote to sound more masculine".
