This is sad. Now I'm just sad.

Lowtax sucks giant penises. Not even funny penises. He just sucks every penis he sees. It's just something he does.

He's getting 9k per month from his community (yeah, less after taxes, whatever), in addition to money from the forums, and he has the gall to say "we'll pay the marketing specialist after the money starts rolling in":story:The money IS rolling in. He's getting an insane amount, considering all he does is making streams of objectively terrible quality and not closing the forums. I can't believe this tone deaf comment will go over well, especially since SA is full of un- and underemployed people.

Also, Logan Day, a brand manager who starts managing the brand by listing all her mental health issues and hurt feelings to customers. This is really something.
Good fucking question, because the 1099 calculators online are saying that he would be paying roughly $15.5 to $16.5 thousand dollars a year on an annual income of $108,000, assuming that his Patreon makes $9,000 a month. Patreon takes 5% on founder accounts, plus a few other fees. They don't take out that much. His net income after Patreon fees and 1099 taxes is looking like it would be around $83,000 to $86,000 a year. I would guess about $80,000 as a safe low end. He has also stated that the forums are self-funded, too, so he doesn't have extra associated cost for running them. That is 100% profit for him.

EDIT: To clarify, Patreon Founder accounts are accounts created before they switched over to a more aggressive fee model in return for more tools for powerusers. Lowtax's account is old enough that he could still be operating under the old fee schedule.
It's all bullshit. Pateron at most takes 15% - right?

That 1099 calculator must be fucked up. When I did some 1099 stuff working for the county elections board, just about half the pay vanished into Income, State, Medicare, and Social Security taxes.

The correct way to handle your Internet income is to funnel it through an LLC and pay yourself from that, after deducting every possible business expense possible. Lowtax could, for instance, be writing off hosting costs. Paying people to move the forum? Also deductible. He could even pay his moderators and his "There's a front page?" writers freelance wages and write them off.
Lowtax's "business trip" to bang his mormon sidepiece, since he was there to "pitch a script" would be fully tax deductible.

But you what isn't a tax deductible expense? Pills and wine. And that's why there's no money and he owes tons in taxes.

So correct me if i'm wrong but this babble is truly difficult to follow. He hired a freelance marketing person to help him monetize the site better? How does that make any sense, he makes his money off Patreon right, so is she helping Lowtax market himself so people give him more money? Because its not working right now.

Lowtax is pretending to hire Bogan Lay so he can get his dick wet without it looking incredibly bad in court. Unfortunately logan seems to be exiting the "this fun and exiting because its SECRET and ILLICIT" stage and is entering the "I want to show off to everyone how much we are in love" stage, which is going to soon be followed by the "Ok this will be perfect if I can just change a few things about you, which I have to because we're now public" stage, and finally by the "I'm bored with you and/or the relationship, but society looks down on me if I just leave you for no reason and/or publically whore it up. So I'll start responding to those guys sliding into my DMs while baiting you so the breakup will be all your fault. I'll sometimes pepper this with moments of reconciliation where I'll have a thought about the stable meal ticket is better than having to spread to get the next rando to pay for dinner, before going right back to forcing the breakup" stage.

I shopped at roughly the same store as Lowtax for few years, and one of my friends still does, so I have a pretty good idea of how this is going to play out having seen it before.

A perfectly legitimate and not at all an angry ban...

Who ever here is Shut Up Meg: excellent troll post. 7/7.

I thought he paid off the tax lien?

The Missouri Department of Revenue lien has been settled, but that doesn't for certain mean paid off.
The settlement may mean he's set up a payment plan.

TL;DR Liens encumber an entity, and SERIOUSLY fuck with your credit; filing a lien is a way to get the debtor to come to the table and grovel, because they usually aren't getting any more money until the lien is lifted.

Why haven't I been banned from here yet? https://youtu.be/fihc2ONQ5v0
because you're on a forum that isn't something awful right now. you're allowed to disagree with the hive mind here without fearing a ban. kiwifarms is a place where you'll find a thread populated by transgender communists and another populated by nazi chuds right next to each other on the catalogue existing in harmony together. most people come to this website to laugh at things and that's all most of them care about. unless you're being obscenely cringe or posting something illegal you're fine on here. there aren't that many rules. welcome!

Lowtax seems to have forgotten that Something Awful is supposed to be a business, not a charity. Why on earth should anyone donate their time and energy free of charge to a for profit enterprise?

You know, it crossed my mind once that by posting on SA, I had paid Lowtax in order to give him free content that he used to sell adspace, and he had the power to revoke my ability to keep giving him free content at any time, charging me an extra $10 just to keep giving him more free content to sell ads with.

Like, I get that's how user content-driven websites work, but paying for the privilege and getting banned for no better reason than Lowtax felt like being an asshole really drove home how shortsighted he is.

But now, asking once again for content to put on the front page for free? Come on. Hell, I don't even know what I'd submit at this point even if I wanted to. He's asking for some kind of amusing content in the midst of bending the knee to the craziest of the craziest puritan trannies the internet has to offer, so anyone's submission runs the very real risk of offending Barney & Friends, who'd spend all day trying to ruin your life, and there's not even a red cent to be made because you're giving your hard work to insane drug addicts.

That's gotta be the worst deal I've ever heard. You know what Lowtax should read?

I HAVE NEVER phsyically ABUSED MY WIFE!

During his 30 minute meltdown, one thing that stood out to me was when he was talking about how his wife lied and said that he was telling her to punch him in the face or something. Lowtax's words were, "I do not recall this happening", which sounds 100% like something a lawyer would coach you to say when you really did do it but you don't want to outright perjure yourself.

Bogan Lays marketing strat:

Phase 1: Get tons of people ridiculing Rich and SA on offsites
Phase 2: Act cunty on the forums, meltdown and ban customers
Phase 3: ?
Phase 4: Profit

Guys she's a marketing GENIUS.

This is the most SA has been discussed in years, so I'm finding it hard to dispute your logic.

See now that's brand management. Even if Bogan turned out to be some absolute marketing genius, what the fuck kind of rebranding are you going to do on $0? And Lowtax would sabotage anything remote successful.

He had an absolute gimme that he completely and totally fucked up a few years back. It was during the xenforo fundraiser, he promised to draw a spaceship picture for every goon that donated. Star Citizen was selling basically just spaceship pictures at that point and LowT was taking the piss.

It might have bought SA some brief headline space on gaming websites, or he could have at least antagonized Croberts with a successfully completed project. The money disappeared and it was never brought up again.

The affair was never secret or subtle. She originally started popping off in an FB group before LowT ever posted that selfie on his page. Now, when confronted they both get really mad but they're retarded how obvious this is.

+1 on the lien. There are 3 with the biggie being over $100k. No way in hell that's paid off. That's probably why he's getting taxed so heavily on his Patreon and he's also probably not organized his business in a way that would allow him to pay less in taxes, as others have said. He hasn't had to pay alimony in years but child support on the other two kids won't go away for a while. He's in mountains of debt, probably never paid taxes on SA at all until the liens got filed.
