tl;dr He's an English professor at Berkeley, she's an advice columnist notorious for her terrible advice. The two started an online friendship. Within about a year of meeting irl, both of them had trooned out and Mallory chopped off her tits. They are now married. Lavery, already estranged from his family, convinced Mallory to publicly cut ties with her family as well. They abruptly moved to NYC to get away from Mallory's family in the Bay Area...Lavery currently thinks he's going to "commute" weekly to Berkeley for his classes, in spite of TSA's twansphobia reducing him to tears the last time he tried to fly.

Lavery loves making glib references to "The Drama" (aka the sudden and total termination of Mallory's relationship with her entire family). It was all worth it if it makes Lavery seem more interesting on Twitter amirite?

I know the "straight with extra steps" meme has already been posted about these two. But, I'm trying to imagine a way where neither of these two people ever stopped, took even one second, and measured their thoughts and actions against objective reality. This is utterly farcical, it's a stunning display of people with too much money, too little sense, and too much spare time, even more than most of the rest of this thread, or so I think. You couldn't INVENT your way into this being a sensible fiction story even if you were L. Ron volcano-fucking Hubbard. It may not even be that this doesn't make sense. It's that it's so blatantly fraudulent that you can taste the false bravado in the captions and post comments like you're deep throating a fucking deep cycle marine battery.

Why do trannies need to keep on taking hormones, with how dangerous they are? Why can't FTMs take it until their face and body hair growth cycle starts and their voice breaks, and then stop? Why can MTFs take it until they get whatever breast and hip development, and then stop?

In these cases where the female partner of an AGP troons out too, I always imagine it's an attempt to grab some attention back for themselves, but they only realize when it's too late that no one gives a shit about ftms.

I have heard a theory over on the "Most physically repulsive tranny" thread. In short, troons don't like the definition of "woman" or "female" and are constantly trying to redefine it. This also extends to the definition "femininity", were they actively think that if they feel/ think they are feminine they are feminine, regardless of what the rest of society thinks. I think it's reasonable to believe that the troon in question here subscribes to this mindset and surrounds himself with similar minded people.

I'd imagine if/when they stop hormones their bodies will slowly revert back to its natural state.

eg if your thyroid stops functioning, you have to take medication to get the hormone levels back up - if you stop the meds those levels will drop over time and your metabolism goes to pot....back to square one.

Because, first off, one's body will attempt to bring their chemical imbalance back to normalcy. Typically their body is unable to achieve this and they instead are stricken with unexplored territories of the endocrine world. Secondly, there is no hip development as a result of an adult taking exogenous hormones. Breast development, yes, but only in the form of tuberous breast syndrome as men do not have the genes nor endocrine response that allows breasts to go through their final stage of development. They must keep taking hormones because they believe that it is only a matter of time before the hormones they are taking give them particular features that, unbeknownst to them, the hormone cannot provide.
Simply put, they'll keep taking the drugs until the drugs do what they want them to, but the drugs never will

it’s not a dumb question. Men and women both produce testosterone and oestrogen, but each sex has different amounts of each and a different capacity to respond to each. For women, most of the damage done by testosterone is permanent. Vocal changes for example. Liver damage as well. Once you’re virilised that’s pretty much it. Stuff like hair growth can be partially reversed, but the physical changes remain. A female athlete doped with T will retain a lot of the advantage (there’s a whole body of work on the awful things that were done to female Eastern European athletes during the cold war on this of you want to get angry reading papers...)
For men it seems more reversible, and oestrogen doesn’t have such a striking effect on men as T does on women. Men’s hips do not widen on oestrogen - their pelvises remain Android. To have any real effect men need to take testosterone blockers too and these are probably causing as many symptoms as the oestrogen is. Once you remove oestrogen the body tries to regain its normal balance. Obviously if you’ve cut your nuts off that’s harder as most T is made in the testes (not all - some is from adrenals and other tissues.)
In short, t grows structural shit, and that mainly sticks. Oestrogen just makes men fat and impotent. And drives tumour growth.
You would be insane to fuck with your hormones like this. Even just from the cancer POV.

Um, you can dress how ever you want even as a man, no wierd identies required. As long as you aren’t braking any laws like running naked around a primary school or being health hazard you are free to dress as you please. Sure people might make fun of you but you can just ignore them or change how you dress if reactions are too annoying.
