Does it ever dawn on these people that they're literally rooting for their own side to lose? Has it occurred to them what their side losing entails?

A lot of them have actually bought into the propaganda that these hostile cultures that want to move in and take over aren't actually all that bad and that once we've all been assimilated into their way of life (because assimilation is good if America has to do it instead of the other way around) everything will be peaceful and harmonious. They'll of course all keep their positions of power or privileged lifestyles and the whitecishetriarchy will have finally been vanquished to usher in a utopia.
Or something. I doubt they really put any actual thought into it. They've been conditioned into burping out "America BAD", so America becoming weak and being defeated GOOD, but it probably just doesn't cross their mind to even wonder what would actually happen in such an event.

It's the same sort of horrifying thing that so many griped about both Al-Baghdadi and Suleimani. And you just know there are millions of people disappointed that the Iranian rockets didn't kill Americans, just so Trump would do something else they could snipe at.

I think one of the biggest reasons people like Donald Trump, Mitch McConnell, Boris Johnson and Nigel Farage are so hated by leftists is simply that they're mad that they don't have one of their own. Seriously, I can't name a single left leaning politician in any country that's as smooth an operator as they are.
The left doesn't have an executive as charismatic, funny or with the personality of a Trump or a Boris. They don't have a legislator as cunning, shrewd or strategic as a McConnell or a Farage.
And it's not just the dudes. Compare RNC chair Ronna McDaniel to DNC chair Tom Perez. Or Trump campaign manager Kellyanne Conway to Clinton campaign manager Robby Mook. It's like night and day.
Most of politics seems to be just a few people doing almost all of the heavy lifting and they've got no one who's even seen the inside of a weight room.

It's not a coincidence that one of the few Dems who ran/are running that has a personality beyond appearance descriptors is Bernie, and he's 200 years old. It’s rare for me to watch television. I consume almost all of my news through reading. Because of the happenings of the last few days I decided to give it a go and ended up on CNN. I was unaware just how bad Chris Cuomo is. He suffers from TDS so badly, just wow. His inflections, sometimes he’s practically spitting he’s so venomous. He had the lawmaker from Texas with the eyepatch, Crenshaw I think and kept taking over him, practically yelling at him. Seriously, smh.

Trump deescalates by calling off a drone strike or saying he won't carpet bomb Iran over their explody temper tantrum followed by practically begging for mercy and it means he's weak.

It's usually some call-center Indians trying to convince you to give them money (preferably in the form of gift cards) to "fix some issues with your IP address" and they sometimes tell you you IP has been used in criminal activities (hacking/fraud/CP) to disincentive you from reporting it to the police.

I don't think anyone who's against the death of Soleimani even know the full extent of his misdeeds, and I'm going to call them out without naming/taking a screenshot of them. You can ponder the consequences all you want, but at the end of the day, something had to be done, and it should have been done sooner. This is coming from someone who does not care about these affairs, don't want another war, and want to get the hell out. The man was a risk to National Security. The people who scoff at the killing, saying, "Yeah, he killed Americans, but we shouldn't go to war over that," have no goddamn clue on what this man has done. I agree that we shouldn't go to war, but we shouldn't let these people bend us over, and fuck us like that. Those were innocent Americans; over 600 of them are dead, and over 1,000 were injured. Hell, he even tried to bomb a Saudi embassy by hiring a Mexican drug cartel, all while he sat back and ate lunch near the White House.
But you don't give a damn about that, do you? Okay, if you call yourself a humanitarian, then surely you'd give a damn Soleimani's killing of innocent Syrians and Iranians, especially if those Iranians protested their oppressive government. No, you only give a damn when it's convenient for you. Remember, he violated human rights, and would drill holes into the body of his victims, among other torture. Not even the Iranians are defending him; the media is hyping up the funeral, despite the fact that they are forced to participate in it.
I'm not advocating for war; I'm against it at all cost. However, if you fuck with us, you better be prepared for the consequences of your actions. If you call yourself a humanitarian, and still decry his death? Stop calling yourself that, because you're no where near being one. I'll happily fund your trip to Iran, so you can fuck off there with the people who are disappointed that a war hasn't started.
