My understanding is that this stuff doesn't sell because people want to own it (Billy's comic books are just collections of his strips anyway), but because they want to "support trans creators". The communities that are into this kind of stuff HEAVILY punish wrongthink, and there's a lot of pressure to toss all the money you can afford, and preferably more, at these creators and their patreons in order to not be an evil transphobe nazi.
Ironic, considering how many of them lean so heavily into the Patreon/GoFundMe please-buy-me-a-cheeseburger-because-I-can't-get-a-job-because-tranzfobiaah lifestyle. Are they all just shuffling their begathon proceeds around like some troon three-card-monte game?

Remember that Flamingo Rampant thing Billy wrote a book for, which published books written by all kinds of "oppressed" creators? They had no option for buying individual books, you had to buy their entire set of books about lesbian muslims and trans womyn of colyr and whatever it was they were putting out.
Is their marketing team led by Randy Pitchford?

The joke is that they were trying to say they were "EnGAYged in gay rights" by adding letters into the French word engagement to sound more gay. Frank trys to correct their spelling error even though they're speaking out loud and of course steffie immediately shuts him down.
Doesnt seem to work as well in french though. Took me a sec to figure it out and obviously the native French readers aren't getting it either.

Is any of this supposed to be funny?

Also I thought Sandrat was a nonbinary assigned female at birth, how can ze be a sissyfag? Is there another level to gender that I'm not aware of?

edit: I don't know what blue haired brown girl (?) is supposed to be either

Sandrat's a dude.

Like, a dude dude or a f2m?
A dude dude. He originally went by the name of Sandro, then was written Sandr@, due to rampant gender specialness, which in turn earned him the loving nickname Sandrat on Kiwifarms.

Billie does not like FtM-transgenders, as shown by the Aidan-storyline. That's why it's so ironic he is now "married" to one.

Technically, Arvi's a"nonbinary transman," which makes this a case of two genderspecials in love.
Closer than you know
Love each other so
Androgynous

In reality, the song sung is less Androgynous and more Lola.
Also, who on Earth is keeping up on the Assigned Male lore and relationship dynamics?

I would put a big question mark behind that "in love". But then my point still stands: Billie does not like dysphoric transmen, which was the whole point of the Aidan-storyline.
Why wouldn’t they be? Trans women are women, trans men are men, so obviously this is just a normal heterosexual couple and their sex life is perfectly satisfactory and does not involve crying as Billy fails to get it up and Arvi pretends the wrinkled dude with the receding hairline is a teenage girl.
