Lol they're just now realizing the Pokemon fanbase is insufferable? Real late to the game, guys :story:, but they're probably the same jackasses who threw a fit when Ash lost the Kalos League. The irony is truly incomprehensible to autists.

I hope the Sonic Twitter throws some shade on Pokemon. That's all that's truly missing here.

I don't know if this is suppose to be a joke or not but considering how people act when its their turn to have their favorite companies being made fun of I am not surprised.
That's an edited pic. The original is this one:

And it's quite obviously mocking the shills

"Pokemon has saved my life in Iraq. I would take a bullet to the head for Pokemon. It's a debt I can never repay."
God bless.

Goose Boose talks about the the death threats that have supposedly been sent to the company.
"these threats are totally credible and scary guys, trust me it's not just random people on the internet talking shit"

Good God, what a faggot. You can still love a franchise while being critical of the direction it's going in.

I'm sure most Pokemon fans still remember the day when the 4KIDS actors were "replaced", therefore kicking off SOVA, but I feel like I'm the only one who still remembers the shitstorm than ensued in 2013 when the 16th movie was coming out. Everyone got excited for it because Mewtwo was announced to be in it, literally, that's the only reason people were talking about that film. Like I believe it was from February to sometime in April where people were gushing on about it because omigawd it's Mewtwo!!!, but then a second trailer came out and revealed Mewtwo had a feminine voice, and everyone lost their goddamn minds. That was also around the time the Corocoro Mega Evolution leak came out, and no one wanted to believe it was real. There were still people defending it, willing to give it a chance, and if you know where to look you can find fans of whom they called "Newtwo", but there's kind of a reason why it's the second-lowest grossing Pokemon movie. No one was happy with it, and it got to the point where the screenwriter locked his Twitter account from the bombardment of messages he got.

We pretty much didn't get the answer until just this year as to why they made that decision (they didn't have the rights to Mewtwo as a character, it was with Takeshi Shudo's estate), but it had soured a lot of people's opinions of the anime's direction. Yeah, Best Wishes already had done that, and it was one of the last criticisms of BW before the Unova League, but the damage had been done. People say XY went in a better direction, but the fanbase was long-since splintered, and it never got better. The AmourShippers are among some of the worst, most obnoxious shippers in the Pokemon fandom, and the heel-face turn of the fanbase towards Alain gave everyone whiplash (and me lots of lulz because these were the same people who praised him as a character during the Mega Evolution specials) when he "stole" the championship from Ash. And then the new art-style turned a lot of people off, and I dunno if there were any real controversies for the Sun and Moon anime season, but my point still stands: The Pokemon fanbase was always shitty, always broken.

This is just another day, another year of Pokemon controversy, but this is definitely trumping the anime fanbase's chimp outs. It was just a matter of time, if you ask me.

TL;DR about the state of the Pokemon community:

Ha ha, old man.

But in all honesty, that's a bad mindset to have - Just because something is bad now, doesn't mean that there wasn't passion in the games before hand - There was. Gen 1 was broken, but you could tell that a lot of work went into the games considering the hardware limitations at the time.

Again, the reason why things seem to have gotten bad was when the game's mainline jumped to the 3d era.

I guarantee you, that if the games were still in 2-d, none of these problems would exist. Hell, we'd probably marvel at the pixel art right now - But, if wishes were fishes...
Yeah, you're right. I still have the older games that I'm fond of. I should just accept that this one isn't for me and be a man about it, it's just a kid's game.

As far as I've seen, even on /vp/ the extent of the anger has been extremely angry and funny vocaroos.

It was so obvious BW was going to go one direction but the earthquake fucked it all up apparently, that's kinda why the series feels a bit rushed, that was where I dropped off for the anime but checked in with X and Y at least it had some cool animation for battles. Its probably that final match in the kalos league's backlash that Ash won Alola though

These faggots are mocking people who are upset about Game Freak lying about reused models while at the same time taking that White House petition seriously

So seriously, in fact, that he has to censor out Donald Trump's name

Wew.

Oh boy I can't stop following this exceptionalism. Here are some juicy updates. Japan has also joined full force.

Cringe 5.jpg
Japan Rise up.jpg

There is this shit going on in Japan, Japanese hatred for South Koreans is at an all time high. Apparently Game Freak seemed to cover up that this gym leader was a Taekwondoe Master instead of a Karate Master. I don't have much understanding of the cultural significance of this outside of the Japanese hating all other Asians historically, most infamously the Koreans and Chinese.

Here's a good video explaining why the models are basically identical, he identifies the few minor changes in some models. In my opinion very little to almost no work was done on those "new" textures either. Anyone with basic knowledge of Photoshop can do that in about 15 minutes.

Wait what the fuck? How are you able to have the rights to make the Pokémon anime but not have the rights to Mewtwo’s “character”?

well gentlemen, its about 7 hours before I have to own you all and buy 4 copies of this game. All i have to say is that it was a pleasure shitposting with you.

You know what I think was the biggest problem?

Its Zelda BOTW and Super Mario Odyssey. Both games are old news now, but they were both revolutionary titles filled with little to complain about. They did a lot to evolve the franchises and were worthy of next Gen consoles.

People were expecting the same for what's definitely the 3rd most popular Nintendo product.

GF really dropped the ball.

Yeah that and communication and marketing
the 24 hour stream was poorly thought out and even made a shill like Joe nearly lose his mind
and to say game freak fucked up so hard they at least need a PR team for themselves is a massive understatement
