So with 16 entries so far at 1-2k words each, who is gonna be masochistic enough to actually read all of these? Call me cynical, but if it's a community vote won't we get maybe 1 or 2 people autistic enough to read the stories and 5-6 people who'll just vote for a random thing because they're massive spergs with retardation issues?

I think we should appoint @Hellblazer the sole judge of the competition and make him read, proof-read, copy-edit, and then produce a 500 word review and a 3,000 word essay on the themes and hidden messages of each story, before he declares a winner.
 
I'll join too I suppose, just don't be surprised if I end up submitting something entirely unrelated to what is described below.
