he's a brony, I'm pretty sure they don't care for anything beyond the "sex appeal" of the characters.

Then again, I'm talking about a man who over-analyzes SpongeBob episodes for a hobby.

That rabbit hole goes FAR deeper than you think. Just look at one of his fans (and the asshats who think the ranter has GROUND for argument here)who bizzarely thinks he has OPL-delusion level influence on Viacom:

He complains about an episode where Squidiward has a Sunday off because apparently there was an episode before that where Squidward complained about never having Sundays off. Who would know that?

That does sound like autistic literalism. It's autistic enough to know things about a children's show in obsessive detail, but pretty much any damn thing has obsessive fans who know literally everything about it. The autism kicks into overdrive when taking a perpetual complainer's "I never get Sundays off" as meaning literally never.

Or not getting that Mike Judge's whole schtick is shows that make fun of certain groups, like dumb teenage metalheads or rednecks, and are yet sympathetic enough that they're actually usually popular among the very groups they ridicule.

This is, of course, arrant nonsense. There is a very, very, very simple reason YouTube takes complaints from Viacom very seriously, and why little guys like MrEnter get stomped when it's Viacom Godzilla-stomping around.

It's that just a bit over a year ago, YouTube (owned by Google) finally settled a lawsuit brought by Viacom years ago as a $1 BILLION lawsuit. Brief rundown on that case here.

Really, no more explanation is needed. YouTube doesn't want to stir up that hornet's nest again, so you can bet complaints from Viacom go straight to the top of the queue. (And of course, there's a mechanical process by which a threshold number of complaints just automatically gets an account yanked.)

There's a wealth of information about this guy that it's hard to organize it all.

I used to be interested in his reviews, but after a while, he just got kinda grating. He comes off as taking things too personally and acts all preachy. In his Chicken Little review, he really blasted the main character's dad and called him a terrible disgusting person. And I think he even mentioned going into depression over that one episode in MLP where Fluttershy decided to go apeshit and hurt her friends's feelings.

His attempts at humor also come off as really forced as well. There was this video where he started off being on a Phonex Wright style trial where he was convicted of hating every episode of Spongebob. Okay...

And there was this one review where he acted like he was really grossed out because somebody's vomit covered an entire street. He then said to this OC guy that he couldn't go on or something. At that point, I felt he was trying way too hard to be funny.

My brother really likes his reviews for some reason. But hey, he and I are both autists, so I can kinda understand things from his point of view. But there are far better reviewers out there.

That's... interesting. That journal entry is also quite Spergy. I am surprised he didn't include "I still live with my parents" as one of them.

"He truly is going to be a permavirgin."

Considering he's an admitted asexual, I'm sure he's more than fine with that.

I wouldn't be surprised.

But still as I said, I'm surprised there's no mention of his living conditions. And considering him admitting things like his autism, (lack of) sexuality, his dental hygiene and shit like hating onions and cold water. It just stuns me he didn't bring up whether or not he lives on his own.

Mr. Enter annoys the piss out of me because my little brother follows his every word. I don't mind people being critical about how a cartoon episode is written or the execution of the humor. But it's only a person's opinion. Okay, maybe Spongebob isn't as good as it used to be and its humor comes as a bit off at times. Maybe some of the messages in Friendship is Magic can be kinda confusing. There can be good points to his videos, but the way he explains it is horrifically autistic. There's "This episode is bad because of how the characters are written and the execution of the story comes off as weak" and "THIS EPISODE IS SO BAD I'M SO SAD THE WRITERS ARE EVIL". A lot of silly self-aware humor of the cartoons he reviews goes right over his head, too.

I actually tend to like his content at times. He does have a habit of being a little shouty, which can be hard to listen to when it clips his mic. But i dont have the best taste in youtubers anyways.
I agree, I actually kind of like his videos, mainly because he actually kind of sounds genuine. I know this is a very unpopular opinion on here, but I actually like his Animated Atrocity series because, I will admit, a damn good portion of the atrocities that he reviews are legitimate atrocities from what I have seen, such as modern day Spongebob/Family Guy, Teen Titans Go, Mr. Pickles, Ren & Stimpy's Adult Party Cartoon, and Megababies are easily shit though. Do I always agree with how bad he thinks some of the things he reviews are? Not necessarily, sometimes I find some of them not as bad as he or others do, and sometimes, I actually find others much worse than he does. I actually would like to see him review anime episodes and even OVAs like Pupa. Kinda sucks that he won't review Food Fight though.

I also like other critics such as The Nostalgia Critic and most recently Island of Rangoon (Island of Rangoon actually needs more love to be honest with ya). I used to like Nostalgia Chick before she went all radfem/white feminist/SJW, but back in the day she was also someone I used to watch.

Considering that Mr Enter now has his own special little place amongst our lolcow family, I'm just going to continue what I said in the critics topic...

I'm happy to see that a lot of you want to see someone talk about Mr Enter, and I assure you guys that it won't just be a rant complaining and insulting him. I just want to bring up some points about him and such. I'll see what I can rustle up over the next few days in terms of a script. ;)

I made the mistake of reading this. What the actual fuck. It basically boils down to "things that personally offend me can never be funny to anyone and you're not allowed to write them." Some of the examples he listed are genuinely unfunny but god, he acts like it's the fault of dark humour in general instead of a joke just not panning out.

I don't think he's in much of a position to tell anyone how to write humour when his "skits" are aggressively unfunny.

I wonder how legit that is. As an Aspie myself there was a period of time, back when I was a confused teenager, where I identified as an asexual. I had romantic feelings for a few people by that point, even masturbated, but the act of Sex always seemed very unnapealing and for the lack of a more elegant term, gross to me. When I was, like, 17 or so I realized that "Asexual" is probably not the right word for it and using it as part of my identity was a very pretentious thing to do.

This makes me suspect that many people who identify as asexual, Mr. Enter perhaps included, use it as an excuse to deny their own sexuality, rather than dealing with it. I don't wanna get too much into armchair psychology and I'm not claiming genuine asexuality doesn't exist but I do wonder if he and some other people have the same problem I had. Not that his sexuality is any of my business, of course.

It's actually completely normal to feel this way sometimes. Teens in general do question their preferences and wonder if they're homosexual, asexual, heterosexual and so on - I went through this myself, but I didn't try to put a name to it because I was brought up in a household that understood that it was something that everybody went through at some point. It's just that in today's day and age young people aren't educated that well on it and, furthermore, believe that sexuality is the pinnacle of all things that makes up who you are as a person. Mr Enter looks like one of those people to me.

Thanks for making a thread on this - I'm learning quite a lot about this guy...

I agree with what people say. He can sometimes be funny, and sometimes can make good points, but he sometimes spergs so much, he acts like the characters are real.

I actually watch this guy sometimes - more out of morbid fascination and needing something in the background while I do my own creative shit than being a Dan but I certainly don't struggle through him the way I do for most lolcows.

The admirable animation series he does isn't too bad. Like when the guy calms the fuck down he can raise some good points, but it's all lost in this sea of videos of angry, immature ranting that you would need to strip mine for anything of substance.

Wow, I sleep for a few hours, and I see that this thread already advanced a few pages.

I feel like Mr. Enter having autism really should have been one of the top things I should know about him, but apparently it wasn't up until now. Have I really been living under a rock this whole time??

Also, I do wonder if Mr. Enter has non-autistic fans.... I have at least one Mr. Enter fan under my Skype, but he has Asperger's, so...

Y'know, as someone that loves and studies animation, I can sympathize with how MrEnter loves his toons. But he fails to realize about other animators, like Bill Plympton and so on (that is, if he's grossed out by him).

Plus I find him annoying as hell, so that compensates with something.
