There's already a screenshot of him offering to send a CP link to a teenager.
“Oh that? That was just a joke! I was going to send her a link to a cat video”
Now considering that the Canadian Supreme Court overturned a child grooming case
just a few months ago based on the presumption of innocence, do you really think there’s a prosecutor in Canada who wants to go trial without something more solid than that?
Sorry, unless they find some CP at his house, or at least some better evidence than this, nobody is going to be in a hurry to bring up charges.
But he also sent a voice recording that said "I love you Jessica Rempel ... I want to put my weenie in you". Like that's pretty clearly bad right?
I just googled the Morrison case. Sadly very disturbing but maybe it leads more to my theory that if they aren't doing anything right now they might be gathering more info?
Edit:
That’s the one with the Elmo voice, right?
Look, we all want Yaniv behind bars. But let’s be realistic.
The Morrison case was just a few months ago. Does anyone really think, that there’s a prosecutor anywhere in Canada who wants to go to court and argue that a woman saying “I want to put my weenie in you” with a goddamn Elmo voice is actually a serious proposition as opposed to a joke in bad taste?
(Yes, I know Yaniv isn’t a woman, but in the eyes of the law he is.)
Now I’m not saying it was just a joke. But that’s what Yaniv would say. And the odds of finding a prosecutor who wants to challenge that,
this soon after the Supreme Court overturned a case (and a law!) because it violated the presumption of innocence, is pretty close to nil.

Depends. I think the stuff already out there would be sufficient to at least open an investigation under normal circumstances, and at least try to gather some more info and see if there’s enough evidence for a prosecution.
However, this is hardly normal circumstances. Yaniv’s status as a protected class offers him some protection.
And while he’s hardly a prominent civil rights figure, there’s enough of a circus surrounding him to encourage a prosecutor and the RCMP to go find another perv to prosecute who isn’t as likely to be a headache.
So... Chance of the RCMP gathering info: Pretty good. Chance of it leading anywhere: Below 50%?
