I admittedly don't know much about prescription drugs, but the dude is living with his mother who has a serious medical condition, and is likely on pain medication of some sort... Just a thought.

I thought maybe they were going for a making fun of themselves angle at first. He's always being criticized for taking himself too seriously so it seemed like a smart thing to do. That's when he was just moving windows around and other silly stuff, though. It's clearly not a show now.

You're making the assumption that she couldn't have other medications either. She probably has pain pills, but she likely keeps tabs on them (because she needs them). She might not pay as close attention to her valium or whatever.

I'm rather familiar with drugs, and his behavior lines up with one type of drug way more consistently than others. The lack of nodding out + the memory issues make me think it's benzos. And benzos are often favored by alcoholics too, because they stimulate the same part of the brain and cause similar effects. It all makes sense. But we're all just guessing.

The reality is that he could just be super drunk and taking aspirin. We don't know. But if we're going off behavior...
