You can say that again. I've seen 'Strudels' and basically they are the pay to make version of Dutchies except you'll be lucky to even get a myo slot since they are never open and the owner sells the cheapest at 45$.
 
telephone's only thing that makes her popular is that ino can make those bird calls without using a reed whistle, so add in the whole child-like acting, it makes people like watching her character.

but other than that the actual character design is very bland. if she didn't do any of those things she would be just another random fursuit owner

Sure these are basically wingless and more ARPG based than Dutchies.

This is just a blank reference. Strudels are dog like fairies who hatch from eggs (They don't reproduce for these eggs the eggs just pop into existance) and they become more unique when they eat their first food item. The cheapest slots are 45$ Trickster (A sub species of this) are probably closer to 80$ and usually you won't get one and Wilderling I would guess 90 - 100$. The owner of the spiece had customs for the spieces open, Wilderling Strudels were at the base price of 500$ In all honesty if I wasn't lazy I might try to make a thread on the species since a lot of the mods tend to subtly steal myo designs, rehash them slightly, and auction them.

It's actually cannon that Dutchies are suppose to have the mentality of humans to some of the archangels. Nimbus, who's dutchie has killed thousands and did a self exile, has told members their Dutchies need to have the mind and mentality of a three year old.

original species hype like that is wild af. i remember dreamys were a big thing for a long time on furaffinity, and some of those custom slots would go almost to $1000. it wasn't until people were getting upset at the slave theme that revolved around them.

It really is. The owner Loppy makes fucking bank whenever she makes Strudel designs. Loppy's recent design that she made three days ago sold for 510$ The bid before the winner's was 387$ so someone literally offer over a hundred dollars more when the minimum bid increase is 5$. Deviantart is home to the biggest fucking closed species raves.

I wonder what these people might come up with if they actually used their artistic skills and creativity and tried to become character designers. But I guess that's a moot point because coloring in a base design someone else thought of isn't too creative to begin with.

I'm honestly surprised they haven't kicked up a shitstorm over Fursona Pins using a dutchie as one of their gay pride animals lol it's literally a DAD holding any gay or gender flag you choose despite them not having either.

i think ino made some vague rule change since fursona pins are getting extremely popular, plus she might be getting some side cash from having her super special original species being used.

They also like to room with each other, lowering their individual cost of living. I’ve known furfags who crammed five people in a two bedroom apartment because living in a space where they could spread their arms without poking someone in the eye was cutting into their precious porn commission funds.

Nimbus actually promoted an artist who was making dutchies with pride flags. Ironically it was them trying to hide the fact they had been homophobic for saying that they couldn't understand and support pride. Even if it was stupid acesexuality.
 
After looking at this page, I thought to myself; Why get a job and earn money when you can just make some random species and auction it for hundreds to thousands of dollars? Hah, just make it super adorable for the public, and they'll never realize the grave mistake they've done. Simple!

sadly there has been no public interest in my expensive, exclusive species of hairless cats with horse heads and human hands even though they only cost $5000 dollars each

The reason this only works with furries is that they're the only ones who will take a threat like "you must pay before drawing this or I'll be really mad!" seriously.

A lot of furries and popular artists. On Deviantart if you want to be big you need a popular closed species character that was designed by the maker. You could have the art skills of an 8 year old and as long as you had a super popular cs by the popular maker you are set. The exposure ironically pays off the large credit card debt they are in from buying the character.
