I remember once a Con staffer giving me a death glare because I discounted the charity posters we were hucking at a con to one staff member who'd spent time chatting with us, asking what charity we were supporting (the Con's chosen charity for Malaria) but only had his last £5. But refused to discount further the already discounted posters my artist friend was selling as well. The guy murmured some very rude words and stormed off, shoulder barging me in the process.

Con Staffers really do think they're special, rather than volunteers giving up some time. I mean, it's nice if a VA says thanks or whatever, but you aint a paying customer, bucko.

The reason con staffers think they're so special is because most attendees and basically every single volunteer puts staff on a huge pedestal. It's a little ridiculous the hierarchy system within these events. Everyone loves to lord over everyone with their chosen shirt color.

Well, there's more than just allegations (hence the case numbers), but I see what you're saying. I thought it was worthwhile pointing it out, at least. I mean, a pair of con-artists from my home town are trying to take advantage of the situation and it seems like the only other party interested in warning anyone is shrieking about another set of sexual harassment/assault allegations like a lunatic.

Well, nobody here is really saying AM is great. I've seen cons run like shit, by even more questionable people. You could possibly do a community watch thread on just anime cons.

At most we're saying they did something that contributed to the sweet salty tears of the KickVic snowflakes. They're a tertiary player at best.

Also, why the hell are there identical replies by two different accounts?

To think these morons are confident about the effectiveness of browbeating their politics onto artists into boycotting cons (as you said; a huge income for them), when presumably most of these screeching aposematism-haired beefgoblins were never commissioners to their art or have supported them financially in any way, shape or form.
Truly their entitlement is uncontested.

Bear in mind she probably doesn't have all the information and is being pressured hardcore by the Funimation crowd, who are pathological liars and probably long-term acquaintances of hers. You can never spot crazy until you've gotten a distance from it, as the old saying goes. That doesn't make her taking that position smart or acceptable, but it does make why someone would do so understandable.

People are wrong all the fucking time and make stupid decisions regarding their friends even more so.

Well, yeah, because you are attending the con for free on the basis you're not going to enjoy it as much. I guess for most its just a moment of power for a bunch of dweebs that never get any in the rest of their lives.

I had attempted to make an account earlier, but it needed admin approval. I decided to try again with a different email later on a separate device, replied on this machine & didn't realize it was still signed in to the first account. I didn't get as much sleep as I should've last night. Sorry. ?
