The truth about most furries is that they do not give the slightest iota of a shit about animal science. They couldn't give less of a shit abouy biology, ecology, natural history, whatever.

For that matter, really only a few "care" or actually know anything about actual animals. The interest in animals is a very superficial one, really, its only the looks of animals that matter. It's how cute they are and how kinky their dicks are.

Also most couldn't get through vet school if they tried. Shits designed to tear you down and weed out the people who don't actually have the brains or the work ethic (organic chem, looking at you).

yup, i think this is most furries. the only exceptions I see to this rule seem to be people who have really specific species as their fursonas, these are usually people who are actually interested in the natural world so they like weird/ugly animals like pangolins or vultures.

While vet tech isn't exactly high-level shit, you still need an associate's degree, so I'm thinking this is out of reach of the typical furry motivation.

"IT" means "tech support" and "self-employed" means "I got fired a while ago because I have no social skills / can't show up on time."
("but I'm totally starting a business")

people like Growly are far disconnected from reality. considering the insulation of the furry community allows him to continue to attend conventions, he probably considers the people here to be easily categorized as "haters" and "trolls".

unfortunately, a lot of furries will empathize with him on this. a convicted pedophile.

You got that right. And of course, here I am forgetting how furries utterly are disconnected from reality and ok with substituting the fandom in its place.

Stepping out of snark mode - I will never get used to how much furries are able to immerse themselves their own halfwit reality. In another post recently I mentioned Chefmongoose, a Anthrocon board member I’ve been exposed to, and I have always been astounded at how he thinks being a furry is cool, and a major accomplishment worth bragging about. He will unironically and proudly state he’s been on Furrymuck for decades; he acts like Anthrocon is a world renowned event, and that Pittsburgh people love it, despite the fact that hotel and restaurant staff in the area are often given free days off so they don’t have to deal with the freakshow.

And to bring it all together he’s often tweeted to Growly about Anthrocon and con business in general and shows no compunctions about associating with a known, convicted pedo. Disconnected from reality hardly covers it.

I think he means that the slapfight between Renn & co and Treble & co. made it to the farms. If you follow the link it takes you to the post I made regarding the whole Golden State FurCon drama.

Ah! I didn't get that. Sorry about that. I need to re-read your post for that reason and, I just can't quite figure out what the deal is with GSFC. It seems mostly to be yet another Orange County failcon?

It's a furcon that's now being ran by someone from outside of SoCal because the former vice chair was removed from the position.

Growly tends to come up when I talk about GSFC 'cause he's friends with the guy who got toasted.

When this news was shown to me, all I could say was “Wait, that website’s still up?” If anything, it getting hacked is just sort of cleaning up a dead website nobody cared about for who knows how long.

I’ve honestly never seen a furry vet tech. The most common jobs I’ve seen are unemployed and EMT.
