Look who showed up to Comic Con.
If this were any other con I'd say it's normal. You'll find a lot of cons offering signups and advertising at each other, to the point of setting booths up. You can go to a furry con and you might see anime cons and gaming cons promoting themselves.

Califur on the other hand, don't they still owe people refunds? Oh right, on the Twitter post these are the replies:

Ahh, I miss those days, nowadays these kids don't appreciate comic books, all they care about is representation over good fucking writing.
I'd also argue a lot of people going into the fandom nowadays are in it more for the adult or partying aspects of the fandom.

Count Dankula has a video about "Juggalo furries."

Isn't she too young to be on Twitter? I'm not even talking furry twitter with its share of freaks, I'm talking in general minors aren't allowed on-site and for a reason.

Yes, but no one's going to do anything about it. Back when there was that shitstorm of that little girl with the hardcore furry parents who brought her and her cheap homemade fursuit to a convention (where she was teased and it blew up on Twitter) there were a handful of furs who reported her account for being way underage, and all Twitter did was kick back a canned response about how they'll only take action if the person reporting the account is a direct family member or some bullshit.

I feel like Violent J ought to know at least a little bit about the fandom now that he's made that silly video, and if he's still okay with his 12 year old daughter engaging with a sea of weirdos on furry Twitter then that's his prerogative. The man paints his face like a fucking clown and raps, I wouldn't expect him to exactly be a paragon of good judgment.

Oh god no, Violent J loves taking drugs. He'd go into interviews high on coke or something and speak out of one side of his mouth while his body spasmed. Father of the year!

Today on "dumb socialist furries", our friend Dogpatch published a guest article about how a fandom revolving around spending money is in fact socialist. This article is quality stuff. From talking about how the fandom isn't run by a central authority, to a whole rant about how the fandom is in fact socialist.

As what someone said in this thread before, only the most popular yiff artists earn most of the commissions; while most of the other yiff artists get a fraction of the amount of commissions.
Like capitalism, the 80/20 percent rule/winner takes all rule still apply to the "socialist furry fandom", furries are bad communists.
If it was truly socialist, we wouldn't see Adam Wan or Jasonafex hog most of the fandom's glory for their mediocre work.

>fandom is run by commerce, buying and selling art is its centerpiece
>huge social stratification between successful and struggling artists
>popularity is attained by either hard work, connections or getting lots of art that costs money
>practices like closed species allow to exploit intellectual property rights to monopolize visual designs.
>full of deviants who'd fuck kids or animals
nay, furry is ancap as fuck. Or agorist, considering they avoid paying taxes for their work. Their only arguments is that nothing is made by some rich guy with a factory, ignoring the stratification within fandom, with rich trust fundie kids able to pursue their hobbies and lumpenprole almost-NEETs barely able to scrape a living yet trying to make a bank as artists with second hand drawing tablets and pirated photoshops, and that there are no fees or taxes, although that's just because payments are done directly trough PayPal and aren't marked as business transactions, or paid in cash.

This is a pure propaganda piece by some illiterate edgy teens raving against capitalism, I thought Dogpatch wasn't much of socialist but guess it rubbed off him from his friends circle, so now he's sharing disingenuous bullshit.

Ah yes, a fandom about sexual deviants is somehow a secret political agenda for socialism, guess we gotta take them seriously now.

Hell, at least they talk. I've sort of been following a moderately popular kink/cartoony artist's list of commissions (public Trello), and they've had about ~$200 to refund over 2 years with 43 paid slots ranging from $50 to $70. Also picked up a part-time job "to pay for refunds" of which none have been, obviously.

You can get away with so much shit being feely weely and nursing your online reputation.

is it jailbird or someone way worse than her

While this post was written as "life as a furry porn artist is tough" it comes off to me more as "only doing furry porn isn't a good job prospect compared to getting a real job".
