A lot of people have criticized me specifically being involved with Chris because I have conflicting interests, and I'm not qualified to help people. I agree, so I had an idea to get Chris actual help. I think people will appreciate this.

@Null What you are doing is a good thing. Your intentions are clear and compassionate. Actively encouraging the involvement of professionals can only be positive for Chris at this point. Hopefully he follows through with this.

It is a good idea on paper, but I have doubts on some things:

-The therapist being able to decipher Chris' word salads.

-Chris' honesty, how much he is willing to reveal RELEVANT things to said therapist before slipping onto a fantasy world tirade.

-Chris' pride, how much he will take the speds ideas as his own because he is enamored with them and unwilling to part with his new mythos.

I believe it boils down to the quality of the therapist and their ability to push Chris into being honest without him getting defensive and disrupting the entire process.
 
Honestly, I think it's pretty stupid anyone has had a problem with Null intervening. This is the most classic "troll" tactic with Chris. Help him and he gives you fucktons of content. Literally what Marvin and Co. had been doing for years.
 
This is really depressing and I'm glad you're helping him. Hopefully he takes your advice and is totally upfront about everything.
 
People think you’re not qualified to tell someone their extortionists don’t have a giant moon laser? That doesn’t exactly require a degree.
 
What happens if someone he sorta trusts just flat out tells him none of his fantasies are true?

It was kinda funny in the beginning to read this stuff, but now it's just getting really frustrating.
 
Null is of course right. If Chris discloses his full beliefs in different realities to a professional, then it's his greatest chance for help.


But he won't. Not because he's scared of being proved wrong, but because Chris always follows the path of least resistance.
 
It's pretty ironic (and very heartwarming) that the internet board of trolls and stalkers is the only one to try and reach out to cows offering the help they need.

My guess is he does the mental equivalent of boulder mode from TMG. He really wants to believe in this alternate reality shit.

I mean, he's a middle aged man stuck living at home with a trash harpy. If that were my life, I'd probably drift into fantasy land too.
 
When you told Chris to be up-front and honest, I assume you're referring to the actual events and not what Chris believes to be true ? Is he going to need any coaching on your part to be able to tell them apart, or is that more of the therapist's job?
You guys are doing a good thing and it's beyond ridiculous how many "helping chris is bad and autistic" comments are on this board.

I think both, honestly. He needs to be honest about what happened in the crime, but being honest about his delusions also helps proves that in no way, shape or form was this a consensual roleplay.
