If he wants to go to tournaments then it depends on where he lives. If he's in California or around New York City he could attend the big tournaments. I doubt he'd place very well. If you live out in the mid-west there's some tournaments out there, but not too many. To make it as a tournament player you have to have the means to travel and you have to be good. Perhaps Queen will offer road head for rides to tournaments?

He could force himself onto the community, sneaking onto podcasts and shit, but given his personality it would be a matter of time before he'd be laughed out of it. He'd be laughed out of the FGC even quicker given his history.

*Ricky debatably doesn't count because they established themselves years before they transitioned and was respected as one of the best tournament players in America. Ricky is still one of the best players even today. Ironically, Ricky dominates in woman-only FGC tournaments... Yes, even in E-Sports do trans people have an unfair advantage. :story:

He's going under the Exceptional Detective handle? I assume what he'll do is challenge a few known players to online money matches and he'll get his ass beaten. But he'll try to play it off like he's the greatest and build a rivalry so he'll get fans. Or so he thinks.

and lmao so true about the smash community. they are the only community to hold big ass tourneys at like one persons house and call camp out in tents in the back etc and never shower

Tampa has a solid Bison. He probably loves the buffs Bison got in AE.

Smash community is autistic as hell. They have their own weird banter too like "friendlies" which are I think are money matches but without money on the line. They have "hand warming" stations that the top players like where they get their own console and monitor to train and warm up at. And a bunch of other shit too. I think a top player was accused of attempted rape as well.

Then there was whole episode where Mew2King (M2K) got catfished.

and the games take fucking forever. glad evo took the shit off the main stage on the final day/ when smash would be up it would be like 4 hours longer than the other games

Edit: If you want to know what it's like being at a Smash Melee tournament, drive to a landfill, play this video twice and yell FIYUH every 10 seconds.

I'm totally challenging Bry when Sagat drops in SF5.

I've seen him play quite a bit and honestly DSP would probably wipe the floor with him.

If he's really trying to break into the FGC and tourney scene, he'd probably be better off cutting his teeth in a game like Injustice.

He lacks the finesse to be a competent Street Fighter player.

nah hed have no chance there. that community is small even smaller 4 months after the game drops all the people who still play it are the ones who play it a ton and go to tourneys he would be best of sticking to sfv where more people play casually
