No, I know it’s not a copyright lawsuit. I’m saying Disney literally controls the legislature and has the best (((lawyers)))) money can buy. I’m just using their copyright and wrongful death suits to say it’s unlikely.
The best lawyers in the world cannot get out from a situation wherein the one rule of title 15 is broken. Corporations have lobbied hard to put as many loopholes, exceptions and fuzzy language as possible into that part of the Federal Code. But the One Rule, never lie about the competition, has not been touched because that is a weapon that is as deadly to the user as the victim. There is a reason Mark Waid's handlers tard wrangled him. He has committed a grievous sin, one that US law has very little wiggle room for finding forgiveness. Right now they are desperately trying to figure out a way to spin things so it seems like Waid never presented himself improperly.
Unfortunately, they have to worry about the indie publisher that caved. Those weak kneed milksops could be deposed under oath in front of a federal magistrate, and they are under no obligation to defend Marvel and Mark Waide at that point. So they will certainly not carry on with the party line of pretending they were not illegally pressured to drop the contract.
