DNC sues Russian government, Trump campaign, WikiLeaks alleging conspiracy to help Trump win election
By Avery Anapol - 04/20/18 11:10 AM EDT

The Democratic National Committee is suing the Russian government, the Trump campaign and WikiLeaks, alleging that the three entities conspired to help Trump win the election.

The Washington Post reported Friday that the DNC filed the multi-million dollar lawsuit in federal district court in Manhattan.

“During the 2016 presidential campaign, Russia launched an all-out assault on our democracy, and it found a willing and active partner in Donald Trump’s campaign,” DNC chair Tom Perez said in a statement.

“This constituted an act of unprecedented treachery: the campaign of a nominee for President of the United States in league with a hostile foreign power to bolster its own chance to win the presidency."

The DNC is seeking millions of dollars in damages related to the hacked DNC emails that WikiLeaks published during the campaign, according to the Post.

The lawsuit alleges that hacking and publishing the DNC emails was part of a larger conspiracy to damage Clinton’s campaign and help Trump win the election.

The suit names as defendants several Trump campaign aides who met with Russian nationals during the campaign, including campaign chair Paul Manafort and Trump campaign deputy Rick Gates, both of whom have since been charged in special counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation into Russian meddling.

The DNC lawsuit also names Trump's eldest son, Donald Trump Jr., son-in-law and White House adviser Jared Kushner and on-and-off Trump confidante Roger Stone.

The suit comes months after Mueller indicted 13 Russian nationals and three Russian groups in his investigation on charges related to interference in the election.

The GOP-led House Intelligence Committee, one of several congressional committees also investigating possible collusion, shut down its investigation earlier this year, asserting that they found no evidence of collusion. Democrats on the committee blasted the panel’s decision to end the probe.

Trump himself has repeatedly dismissed the investigation into Russian meddling as a “hoax” and “witch hunt,” and has maintained that there was “no collusion” between his campaign and Russia.

Lmao are you fucking kidding me

Edit: Thinking more beyond the surface obsurdity, the implications of this are astounding. Like someone accidentally killing themselves because they legitimately thought they could stop a moving truck with their own body.

My favorite thing about this is that the Clintons/DNC are making it increasingly difficult for their fervent supporters to defend them without looking like absolute madmen. Not that they still won't, because they still are, but I can't imagine politically-mild normies that make up the bulk of the population humoring them as much as they have been anymore. Especially if the case gets to discovery and the concrete proof of what we already know comes out.

"Somehow, someway, in any way possible, this isn't our fault! It can't be our fault! Something has to be responsible here! Anything!"

This is the kind of desperation delusional people or people looking for quick fixes to their addictions are used to. That's kind of pathetic, but in the "point and laugh as the DNC chases a laser pointer" kind of way.

I'm looking forward to when the Republicans act this autistic when a Democrat gets elected into office. Instead of Russia, they'll somehow blame it on the Middle East, or /pol/, idk.

I never understood this Russia angle. The Cold War has been over for almost 30 years, Russia has shat its pants and done nothing since, coasting on their oil money, and Donald Trump has never cooperated with them, to the point that he's gotten in their faces and bombed their puppet states. The only way this could be more retarded is if they said that Trump was a puppet of North Korea.

I really don't get this at all. This very same group was proven of committing political conspiracy and election fraud at their own national convention. Like this very same shit. They just didn't win.

I can’t tell if this is the DNC throwing yet another temper tantrum or if they’re trying to draw attention away from Andrew McCabe’s impending indictment.
This is the DNC we're talking about, so I assume both.

Makes me wonder if this will mark the eventual end of the DNC (either as we know it or completely) if this lawsuit doesn't go their way.

And that is why they've spent the last 2 years melting down, blaming the Russians, blaming the racists, blaming the GamerGaters, blaming "hate speech" online.... blaming everything they've blamed.

They don't think they lost, they honestly think they were undermined.

Whats funny is that they undermined berrnie and the bernie bros who predicted this were told to shut up and that they hate women were proved right.

Feel free to correct me, cuz I don't care to follow the news:

I assumed WikiLeaks has been a spot pride for the "professional" type of Democrat, those on the Left that make political alignment their identity (parallel to the mirror behaviour of the pros on the Right). For this wing of the political class, hasn't the glee of WikiLeaks offerings been part the liberal lifestyle? And now they're cutting ties with them?

The 'why' and the 'how' in this story is absurd.

Call me out on this, but this is all I could make out from this situation.

"Another person is upset that Hillary never got voted, and it must be every other fuckers fault under the sun except for them".

They want to scream "Oh, Russia! Russia's involved! And WikiLeaks is conspirin' against us! Ohhh, corruption! Corruption is the reason that we lost and not those emails!" When they rigged the votes to fuck over Bernie and his supporters to help Clinton win the nomination.

Just a reminder that this is exactly the kind of shit democrats told everyone Trump would do if he lost the election.

Dude, they're even going after the FBI, whose currently knuckle deep in going after trump. They have no fucking clue on what their own agenda is. They're acting like autistic brats that didn't get to play with their favorite toy, so they're going to break ALL the toys.
Even hot-takes with democratic pundits are like "uuummm.. I don't really know.. What they're doing.. Sooo I guess we'll wait and see?."

Don't you know, it's okay when they do it.

So that's why these bastards were begging money from me, to fund this ridiculous horseshit. Looks like I'll be voting split ticket GOP-Third Party this midterm.

At this rate I'll be joining the fucking Greens or Libs...

Damn, I believe that Russia was involved im the election and whatnot but my god, can these people focus on fixing the country instead of wasting time and money because they can't let go? Mueller's already on Russia's ass and if any(more) convicting happens, it'll happen. Both parties seem hellbent on blaming each other for their problems.

The FBI could still provoke the DNC's ire as a political body, though. I know it's tradionally been that the current President swaps in his own guy as the head of the CIA, so I assume it's like that with the FBI (the outed guy under Trump was a Republican, right?). WikiLeaks are the 'freedom of information', 'democracy now' type of people, from what I gather. As the spontaneous voice of freedom, so to speak, they re official unaligned while being right up the Left wings alley.

Does WikiLeaks have an offical organ to voice an opinion on this?

The official organ is Julian fucking Assange, who probably would gladly nuke the Earth at this point.
