Someone should tell this 'woman' that standing with your hands on your hips and staring at someone when they're talking to you is read as aggressive annoyance, not as interest. Unless the permanently angry fishwife look is what Wu's going for.

It's quite frightening, actually, how aggressive his body language and stance are. Coupled with his epic height and the fact that he looks like a ghoul, I can see why people don't like him before he even opens his mouth. For someone who's lived as a woman for years, he sure doesn't understand how to use his body like one. Tall women have to work especially hard to appear approachable, as they can been seen as threatening. John just goes with the threatening and builds from there. It's all well and good to blame negative feedback on hatred of powerful women, but John is neither powerful nor a woman - he comes across as an aggressive tranny weirdo. The constant nodding and 'uh-huh' sounding like he's hurrying people along to stfu just makes the aggression seem worse.

But far be it for me to tell a strong, powerful woman how to act, I suppose.
 
I love those shitty Wu drawings because it really shows how everything Wu does and talks about is playing into a fantasy of what he wishes he could be. A ridiculously oversexualized woman who is a badass motorcycle rider and astronaut in her spare time. I get the feeling that Wu never really experiences anything for itself but is only ever thinking about how he can brag about it on twitter afterwards. I guess that's how you end up with one (broken) expensive car after another, a motorcycle that likely gets about 100 miles on it a year (charitably), a non-existent career and bragging about going to 'space camp' as a child. Oh, and a mangled penis.

Her attitude towards women is telling in their faces. There is a ton of detail in these pictures, except for their faces, which are blank and empty and generic and look like a 10 year old drew them. She is only into their porny bodies, doesn't care at all about personality or expression or anything that might make her characters unique.

Even when the facts line up, don't think Wu is telling the entire truth.

It's known fact Wu hates any transgender person who, after getting the sex change, doesn't immediately fling the former life behind them and disavow it, and was notorious on Susan's Place for bragging about tricking guys into sleeping with him.

He might have known this Evelyn, but knowing how callous he is, the empathy is almost certainly overblown if not an outright front.

You guys don't need to believe me, but I haven't led you astray yet. Brianna is definitely condescending about Evelyn and I don't think the NPR thing happened at all. But the basic facts that she had a friend named Evelyn, Evelyn spiraled down and killed herself (on Easter Sunday, 2010), and Brianna and Evelyn's mother are tight, seem to be true.

There's something John put out before his social justice crusade (when he managed to fuck up a convention Frank was attending), that went along the lines of "do you enjoy black poles in white holes?". It was to do with his gay fucking comic that landed him in debt. On the cover was a black and a white character.

I can't remember where I saw it, but it's certainly archived.

Well, that's the result of combining two art styles. Frank did all the "technology" work like buildings, spaceships, and whatnot, whereas John drew the people.

Incidentally, it's generally accepted that the primary influence on John's art style (after the prehistoric newspaper-comic days) was a manga called "GALS!":

My personal (completely unsubstantiated) theory is that Frank was trying to figure out how not to dox every single penny-ante donor, but couldn't figure out how to get the software to exclude the right people, so he did it all by hand.

Brianna met Frank in late 2007 in Denver, and followed him to California in 2008. I'm pretty sure, but not positive, that Evelyn lived in California. I don't know if that's when they met, or if Brianna and Evelyn already knew each other. Frank and Briana got married in October 2008, and they moved to Boston in February 2009.
 
His Porsche is worth "a bit over $30" :lol: Wrapping it around a tree really does a number on the resale value, I bet.
 
wu it such an awesome mix of autism, exceptionalism and entitlement, with a side of troon to boot. the porche tweet is just wow, even for wu.

is there something with autists fetishising objects? you'd think that damn car had its feelings hurt by the doggos getting some mud on the leather. and god forbid she actually do the detailing herself -- you know, like a lot of people that are into cars would do and take pride in. nah, easier to just pay some working class schlubs to do it.
