I’ll give Hitchens that much. He could be a dick at times but he wasn’t as overtly dickish as Dawkins or NdGT.

I don't know what it is, but something about this phrase just makes me tick. Maybe it's the fact that this retard is only proving how completely useless he and other dumbasses on his level really are, even with their supposed "smarts". All they really want is to live in a world where they keep telling themselves about how smart they are.

You reckon? I'll concede I'm far from an authority on any of these people, but my impression was always that Hitchens was a frankly cantankerous, argumentative, abrasive old man, and that he owned all that, whereas Dawkins looks and sounds like a David Attenborough type but then undermines that by making a fool out of himself on the Internet.
 
Are we seriously going to eventually list off all The Four Horsemen of the Tardopcalypse in this thread? I asked because I seriously believe that Sam Harris deserves some shame on this part in due to suffering from the similar self-fellation that frequently goes on in these circles. I am seriously stunned how for being such intelligent people that they cannot structure their sentences in a way that doesn't come off as being an insufferable asshole.

I got really mad at Hitchens about the Maria Teresa shit. I thought he was just being a dick.

It really broke my heart when I realized he was completely right and that Teresa was, in fact, an absolutely awful sadistic monster.

Oh boy. You guys should look around for groups on Fetlife, Facebook, etc. labelled "intelligence kink" or "sapiosexuals". I haven't delved very deeply into them, but I sense a lot of potential. Here is a random post from the frontpage on one such group:

I could've picked any one post about why people with X fetish are cleverer than all the rest, why women are naturally inferior to men, why eugenics aren't bad, etc., but I feel the astrololololgy crowd was severly underrepresented in this thread. In fact, on this forum in general. Do pagans, wiccans and/or astrology fans have their own thread(s) yet?

Also, the MBTI (Myers-Briggs Type Indicator) forums are probably full of people wanking to the thought of how superior their personality type is.

Also, I think this goes without saying, but, in real life, he sounds like a fucking normal guy but he always makes these 1000 word blog posts reviewing the latest movies and shit, full of clear thesaurus use, just complaining about the “sheep mindset” and includes typos and just shit that doesn’t make sense, like in the text message lol
 
From my personal experience there are two types of people who claim to be sapiosexual any chance they get:

1) Basic bitches over the age of 25 who are looking for a guy that's moneyed up from working in a lucrative field like tech. Mind you they are not gold diggers, they are usually middle class and looking to eventually secure a respectable boyfriend/husband because they are no longer in college and must be more selective about who dicks them.

2) Dweeby guys with zero game that are also majoring in some humanist/liberal degree like philosophy. The kinds that intellectualize everything and will probably latch onto some poor girl and idealize her until she gets sick of it and tells them to fuck off. They are at high risk of evolving into fedoralords or Nice Guys.

Some of the recent research articles in Psychology suggest that there may be as many as 21 different aspects to intelligence.

I've heard it said before that MBTI is pretty much just astrology for sapiosexuals. And the more devoted a person is to MBTI, the more true that statement seems to become, especially if they look down on other pseudosciences. Like, the number of people who go off about how "astrology/etc. is fake and if you believe in it you're dumb", while also being aggressively proud of their identity as INTJs is truly staggering. The self-awareness is lacking, for sure. And it's always fucking INTJs, too, like they've unlocked the code that gives them something to latch onto instead of accepting the reality they're just intolerable stubborn frigid nerds.

And I think maybe the world would be a better place if more people were willing to accept that the weird belief systems they use to cope with life are (mostly) no more legitimate than the weird belief systems other people use to cope with life. (Yes, I understand this isn't exactly a profound thought lmao)
