I don't look like Arnold Schwarzenegger, still I love his movies.
I don't look like Sigourney Weaver, still I love both Alien movies
I don't look like Murray, Aykroyd, Ramis or Hudson, still I love Ghostbusters.
I don't look like Will Smith, yet I like some of his old movies. (Fuck him for being such an obnoxious twat in recent years, though).

This "You can't identify with a person of a different sex or race" is so idiotic and everything it tells me is that those that pretend to fight for progress have the most rigid way of thinking in stereotypes, that pigeonholes everything into well-seperated compartments that anyone could imagine.

And of course, Dobson manages to make the most insanely idiotic statement about it.

Bonuspoints for undermining your whole fucking political stance on "representation matters" btw, Dobson.
I guess we don't need all those special snowflake characters in Marvel, since black quadriplegic jewish troons can identify with white male cishet Thor just as fine. :story:

It's like these people ( Dobson...people :story:) completely forgot about all the rad as fuck movies with black protagonists that everyone enjoyed. Did they forget about Denzel Washington and his films? Did they completely forget Wesley Snipes? Jackie Chan, Bruce Lee, Sammo Hung, Jet Li, Tony Jaa? I could go on for days but pretending that everytime a movie with a "not white" protagonist comes out is "TOTALLY THE FIRST TIME IN HISTORY THIS HAS EVER HAPPENED YOU BIGOTS!!" completely dismisses and devalues the works of the actors and actresses that came before them, and that's fucking racist. You can't fight erasure and perpetuate it at the same time.

Edit: Shit I just realized I said black protags but also included Asians. I meant to say "non white" protagonists.

Deviantart was the only place he had as validation to his claim to e-fame and had some impressive statistics as well regarding view count and such (not that any of that translated into actual RL success). To think he'll rather nuke his DA profile out of existence rather than hold to it despite the occasional naysayers of his work just shows how intolerant of criticism he is to the point of being self destructive. At least when he was on DA he cared to produced content on a semi-regular basis and where most of his validation and fanbase resided, but he proverbially "cut off the nose to spite the face" in such an spectacular manner that he'll never reach that level of followers and prominence anywhere else, after that event he entered into a downward spiral from which he hasn't recovered and probably never will.

Seriously this argument is bad on many different levels, I can't even start to dissect it. The funniest part is that he grabs an argument with no evidence or examples of it ever happening and then tries to humilliate the imaginary argument in the most stilted and buzz-word filled manner possible.

It also shows how most of them are projecting their own arrogance, because they assume that we'll identify with the scores of rich, good-looking, nine-hours-a-day-in-the-gym characters just because they're white and male. I mean all that shit sets guys like Bruce Wayne further apart from the average nerd than race ever could, but they assume that most nerds have the same level of narcissistic self-image that they do where they can identify with a fit young ruler of a country just because he's black, or a literal demigoddess just because she's female.

At the end of the day most of us are Happy Hogan and aware of that. They think they're T'Challa or Diana Prince and want more.

Fuck anyone who goes to a superhero movie staring a black guy because of “Muh Deeverseteh.” They should go if it’s actually a good movie, and Black Panther, most likely will be a good movie. Might not be everyone on the Farm’s Cup of Lolcow tears, but to the general public and critics, it’ll probably be good.

I like how sjws and clickbait writers seem to seriously think that a company as mainstream and profit obsessed as Marvel is going to actually put "kill whitey" stuff in Black Panther.
