Politics is like cancer for a site like ED where dumpstering people you don't like is permissible. It should be avoided or else the community will fracture on those lines. It may not kill the community but it will give it some nasty wounds

I'm curious if they've locked down their wiki export/backup stuff; I'd love to dump a copy of the site onto an empty mediawiki, roll every article back to 2008 and just lock it there in read-only mode. It'd be a nice bit of internet history preservation and would also make a bunch of cows really really mad.

Besides, I don't think I could handle another site's exceptional table scraps. We're exceptional enough as it is.
 
I remember when Kiwi Farms went down and they rolled out the red carpet for Kiwi refugees even though most of you acted like a pack of autistic fucking animals and shamed us all. Now you're acting like you're better than them.

I thought initially every deviantart person featured there sued the website.
Then again, i hated having to deal with it's popups and unfunny shock humor imagesof LemonParty/Futanari/Skull fucking images; so good riddance. The only funny articles to me was their "Naruto" and "Linkin Park", and anything mocking tracers
 
ED feels like looking up an old high school classmate and seeing they're a jobless NEET living with their parents at 30 years of age
 
ED has its place. There's a lot of people on the farms, myself included, who wouldn't ever have made their way to this community if they hadn't been bored enough to spend an hour or so clicking 'Random Article' on ED and discovered Chris or ADF or whoever. If ED has any 'value' beyond the intrinsic value that all information regardless of usefulness possesses it's that it represents a microcosm of internet culture from a specific time and place. If it gets taken down it's not like the world will end and I personally probably wont miss it. I would however hope it gets archived.
 
So ED is officially RIP? Get ready for a flood of autism and threads then, I can only imagine the amount of sudden datadumping we are going to see on KF and the cow boards due to this.
