Are you still seething from me telling you to chill out a month ago? Following me to other threads to "downvoot" my posts and correct my grammar is weird, guy.
Nah, just always fun to see someone make such a stupid error when posting pseudointellectual shit and then seethe when called out on it.

You made my day by being a little bitch about it.

BAH GAWD WE HAVE OURSELVES A PIER SIX BRAWL BREAKING OUT RIGHT HERE IN THE VERY MIDDLE OF THE THREAD, FOLKS.

A FULL SLOBBERKNOCKER. WAIT, WHO IS THAT? IS IT? IT IS! THE JEWISH WIFE! BAH GAWD ALMIGHTY WHAT'S THAT JEZEBEL DOING HERE?

The AEW faithful booed at Mick Foley bringing up The Rock even though most of them likely got into wrestling because of him.

Mick Foley.mp4
Man Foley looks washed. I heard rumors that Tony wants to have him booking matches, hope to God that isn't true because the last thing that company needs is a guy who's brain is fucked up from everything he's been through.

Acting like the Rock didn't put butts in seats and move merch like a tsunami (the ultimate goal of any carny, unless you're a mark like Bret Hart who thinks this is a legitimate sport, and even then at least Bret had generational talent) to the point he was a household name at the dawn of the new millennium is absurd.

Muh workrate, pound sand. There's a reason the Grande Americanos get an arena shaking while Ricochet couldn't draw a fly to shit.

It's also not even true that Rock didn't have a great workrate. He has lots of really good matches under his belt, including an all-time classic against Austin at WM 17. During the peak of his original run he was a truly great professional wrestler. I guess Rock didn't do enough flippy dives or fighting spirit no selling spots to be considered good in the ring. And his Final Boss run in 2024 was amazing, which was carried entirely by what he did as a character.

The Rock is a weird cunt now, but he will always be more relevant and have a bigger impact on wrestling than anybody in AEW ever will. If he ever showed up there, he'd instantly be their biggest star.

Fuck merch at that point, the Harts are an institution. You can look at their work and marvel at how perfect their shit was.

In kayfabe a big guy like the Rock would rely on brawling to win a match anyway. He's not meant to wrestle like Dean Malenko.

The Buck and Omega kickstarted a wrestling promotion on the back of their njpw and independent careers. The Rock is one of the few nepo wrestlers who didnt sucked ass

AEW fans show their hands once more as nothing but salty Stamford refugees. Seething about the Rock in 2026? Imagine holding a grudge since the fucking mid-90's. :story:
I stand by the belief that Eddie Kingston is to Mox what Brutus Beefcake was to Hogan - he’s there entirely because he’s friends with a top draw as a way to keep the top draw happy.
At least Brutus could go until the accident forced him out of wrestling.

Fuck The Rock. Whenever he comes back, he fucks something up.

Anyways, I didn't see Double or Nothing, but I did see the MJF vs. Darby match. That was hella good. I've heard good things about the rest of the show.

Brutus was one of them for sure. From 1988 to his accident, he was very over with the crowd. Hogan's friend or not.
What about wcw was he "over" with his 7 gimmicks?
Imagine if someone who was a perfectly serviceable lower-card act in WWE like Otis went to AEW today and they just strapped a fucking rocket to his ass and he main evented All In a few months after his debut.

That's what WCW did with Beefcake in 1994.

The Booty Man had potential, brother.

Except Ed wasn't a lower card guy until after the accident, and especially until he changed gimmicks like 20 times in WCW. He was an upper midcard act, at first. He was one of Honky Tonk Man's challengers during his IC run, he feuded with Macho Man, he was the first to pin Mr. Perfect.
