Ya'll may notice the WATA games brand doesn't even exist anymore. The sealed game grading bubble popped years ago, and anyone who bought into the pump lost money. It was like investing in NFTs.

It was such a scam to consider video games an investment. They sold a Mario game for millions, one that will 100% quit working in the future due to degradation. Things with a set expiration date are retarded to consider an investment. Meanwhile, a gold bar will be the same chunk of metal even 100 years later.

There's not doubt in my mind WATA is some kind of money laundering scheme. You can't really blame Karl for them wussing out of court. Karl is an idiot in court but this is not on him.

For a lawsuit to be properly initiated, the Defendant has to be formally served. They can't participate in a process they have no knowledge of.

A notice of appearance just means "hello, I am aware of this lawsuit and will actively participate," meaning Billy has been magnanimous enough to save Karl the cost of an overseas professional Process Server.

Proper service is the kind of thing Shitlips' tries to wriggle out of so he can get default judgments against people and finally claim he won a lawsuit. It's very easy to beat an opponent who didn't even know they were in the game. Then again, it could just be Shitlips' sheer incompetence rather than actual malice. Hard to say.

Basically. They failed to properly designate the class (the group of entities) that would benefit from the class action lawsuit after being given 5 months to do so.
