Am I crazy to think that's not a very big cut? I've gotten myself that badly with a hobby knife once every six months or so. Is that really all it'd take for gangrene in a diabetic?
 
I've been lovingly bitten and scratched on by my own cats, and never have I gotten a wound that bad. It looks more like she sliced her foot open with a knife.

Seems to bleed a lot worse than it looks, you just wash it with soap after and go about your day.

What I'm saying is what difference is one more open untreated unwashed wound that refuses to heal going to make?

The big deal is that she's got diabetes, cannot feel her feet, and is significantly prone to getting worse infections because of this and she doesn't wash properly or disinfect anything on her body like a normal person.

Fat people, especially diabetic fat people, don't have very good circulation in their feet. That is why wounds and infections can be such a problem, the bloodflow isn't there to carry the immune system where it is needed effectively.

I've had cat scratches on my palm that were like this. There's some areas with thinner skin that kind of just slice open super easily. And they bleed a lot. They're pretty superficial though.

But since she can barely reach her feet and her floor is fucking filthy, it could still get infected. But idk. These small wounds never seem to amount to anything.

BG needs to bite or scratch her in one of her gunt folds, where she gets infected boils. That's the ticket.

Yes cat claws are dirty, they scratch with them in their shit boxes, their mouths are dirty and they use those to clean claws. I can’t stop thinking about the cloud couch, though. It’s already discolored from her sealing there and eating and sweating/seeping/being foul, but it’s a biohazard that is also covered in cat hair and dander. She gets pale couches for some reason and then leaves her bleeding wounds on it for extra staining purposes. Everything about this is making me queasy.

cat claws are extremely sharp, They're like little razor blades. There's a lot of blood vessels on your feet though and the skin is thinner there on the top etc

But mostly cat claws are extremely sharp.
