The Democratic Party's support of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and Voting Rights Act of 1965 gave Blacks a tangible reason to support them. Until recently they even effectively had racial congressional districts.

True, except half of the new issues the Democrats have chosen to champion have zero nuance in their constituents eyes. They call for binary support and anything else is treacherous to them.

The Democrats have backed themselves into a corner with a good portion of their rabid base. They cannot pivot on these and other issues without completing alienating them and losing them forever. It won't be so simple to "spin" or "word smith" their way out of this. Personally I'm ecstatic, I wouldn't want to get caught in a position like that lol. don't call it a grave libdems, it's the future you choose. Probably best to start laying the ground work for a new party if they want to be relevant in 40 years.

I blame Hillary for this. The strong moderates who could have posed a real risk to Trump were dumped because 'it was her turn!' and crushed any opposition. This allowed the insane lefty base to fill the vacuum and flourish after Hillary abandoned the DNC.

They definitely can, the Death of the Democratic Party is both a meme, and a definite personality.

The Democratic Party won't stop existing, but what emerges if the 2030 census goes as well as possible will be essentially unrecognizable to the party of the last 10 years.

They will have to pivot so hard to center they will essentially be the "MAGA but we don't say nigger" party. The trannies, tankies, and third worlders will have to spin off their own version of the Libertarian Party that plays at the local and state level, and only dreams of more than the oddball House or Senate seat.

They will still see themselves as having continuity with the Democrats or today, even while they run on platforms antithetical to them.

I'd argue it started with Obama, who essentially let in all the racist ethno-narcissist blacks into taking control of the Dems and from there, Hillary in turn got the radfems and other types (troons, Third World biomass) in.

This "New Dem" party de-jure continuing from the current Dem is very much true, it's happened across the two-party system many times in American history. I don't disagree with that.

I would love to see the IDpol types you speak of finally be purged from our political system (and in time purged from our nation altogether), but I'd kill to see their party form up and the planks it would contain. Not just that, but imagine the infighting. I'd need an endless supply of popcorn for it!

They often care a lot about their racial identity (to a degree that most Whites in the United States don't) and a lot of them like to imitate the speaking mannerisms of Black preachers, MLK Jr. or Barrack Obama so many of them blend together.

They're going to try and kill someone again probably a Supreme Court justice or Virginia Supreme Court justice since they're mostly screeching about the courts.

I agree, and I think Oct 7th was another disaster in party worker turn over. The party going full "Gas the Likes, Race War Now" in favor of the Palestinians drove a lot of experienced and competent Jews out of the party, and rumors are they were largely replaced with completely incompetent black women.

I actually was expecting there to be more infighting in the party this primary, as the rank and file have been very mouthy about 2024 was lost because they weren't Leftie enough. I'm not sure if that clusterfuck is waiting for 2028, or if the Dems have silently been cleaning House.

The Libertarian Party is a funny lolcow of an organization and I too believe a mask off full Progressives Party would be hilarious to watch
