it's in the four and a quarter range by me too. Summer blend some of the price im sure, but it still sucks. should be 75 cents cheaper.
Could be worse. Here in Alberta, it was $1.79/L for regular at Costco the other day. That is $7.16 per gallon, and we are the cheapest province for gas.

Before anyone hits me with the "Yeah, but the Canadian dollar is only $0.70 US" shit, we don't get paid in US dollars.

The US only imports about 9% of its oil from the Middle East, of which only about 400k barrels a day passes through the strait (and that was in 2025, probably reduced this year, as it has since 2022). Saudi Arabia has pipelines that bypass the strait.

US imports 6.4 million barrels per day (and produce about 13.6 million domestically), mostly from Canada.
*mostly from Alberta

Sadly, we produce oil here, but have lost almost all refining capacity due to federal Liberal governments pulling the Japanese Inspection routine whenever a refinery needed upgrading or maintenance, so we export oil and import gasoline and get fucked over on the pricing.

what are we thinking about the news that the Saudis have betrayed us?
You have it the other way around. Trump betrayed the GCS by saying lol, get fucked, were not going to respond against Irans drones and missiles that are hitting your refineries because of muh market and muh deal. Irans only loosing when we are bombing them.

Hopefully y'all will vote for independence soon, that's bound to help some. Getting rid of the leeches in ottawa bound to be a huge boon for you guys.

we'd need enough panels to generate around 35-40TW to fully power the Earth.
Listen, I'm a huge space expansion and colonization advocate, plus automation specialist. I love where your heart is at but there's a problem with your idea. How do you plan to transmit 40TW of power from the moon to earth?! You're going to create a death ray hundreds of miles in diameter, LMAO. How are you even going to collect the energy earth side? Did you account for Friis equation? It's a cute idea and can be refined into something useful but you can't just beam all that energy back to earth all at once and without loss. You'll need to use several thousand emitters and receivers, with a healthy amount of repeaters, to do it safely. By that point it's easier to build a space elevator.
I've done about half the math needed to explain this completely. However, It would be off topic to spill a huge post of equations here. So while I love the idea it's a little more complicated than just "beam energy from the moon lol"

No, you probably live in a flyover state or area where demand is less. Shit is starting to suck everywhere else.

As long as India and the Pacific coast keep trending brighter until they're pure white then I will suffer higher prices. Commifornians most affected; my heart weeps.

The vote will likely come next year, and every single day the independence movement is growing faster and faster as Carney continues to fuck us worse and worse.

Alberta's plight is a perfect proof that taxation without representation is tyranny.

What do you think?
Were it not for Israel, SA would likely be the absolute scum of the earth. Leaving Israel aside, there isn't a government more sickening and deserving of being wiped off the map than that of SA. So who knows. Obviously, that disgusting state only exists because the US deems it strategically useful. Their leadership is happy to
Canadian oil is purchased at a discount because the Canadian government refuses to build pipelines to the coast so that the oil can be sold to other countries by tankers. Literally America is the only country that can purchase Canadian oil in large quantities, so they can negotiate a better price regardless of global prices. You really need to do your research more.
You're a dumb retard and totally wrong.

Danielle Smith previously said the referendum would be scheduled for October of this year, literally just a few weeks before the midterms. The timing will put it right smack dab in the middle of the midterm election hysteria, with the liberals probably being rabid and violent because they have lost so many seats with the redistricting and fraud prevention/punishing and know it. And since Canadian liberals are hooked on American news (because nobody wants to pay attention to Canadian news it's too depressing) they will likely go batshit crazy - possibly even scaring the undecided into voting yes.

US will start revoking passports of parents owing $100,000 in unpaid child support and soon expand to $2,500 - AP
