Forgive the longer post, sperg react if you must, but as someone arguably right-wing myself I've had a lot of conversations with MAGA friends. The kinds just like you'd see in the TDS thread. Figuring out why they support Trump is hard, it's not like there's another election to vote for him in. Every new issue, Epstein, Iran, the tariffs, etc. it's either blaming leftists (as if it's not Trumps job to foresee their opposition and work around it) saying it doesn't matter, or that it will eventually happen if I just 'trust the plan.' It's very frustrating.

I think I've figured it out though.

There's basically 3 groups of people in the world:
  1. Feral niggers, wiggers, subalterns and lumpenproles. These people are unable to foresee consequences and do not fear prison.
  2. Power players with the ability, broadly speaking, to decide who goes to prison.
  3. Everyone else, who is generally terrified of prison.
The north-star issue of right-wingers today is immigration. Group (2) wants to depress wages, stifle collective action, and increase surveillance and control of group (3). They have decided to do this by importing a controlled amount of (1) to compete for jobs and drive down trust through homogeneity. Additionally (1) may use violence directly to ratchet up the benefits given to them at the expense of (3).

The average right-wing MAGA guy fantasizes about all sorts of purges and revenge and mass actions of varying levels of violence and legality. But realistically will never ever do anything about it himself, because that's illegal of course. When Floyd died, a million blacks threw bricks at stores and burned down a police station, etc. When Kirk was shot all my friends were like "this is it, now it's finally time to fight back, we better not let this chance go to waste!" And I'd ask when they were going to protest and where so I could join them, and they'd just get upset at me or make some excuse. They didn't want to go first. They didn't want to risk getting arrested.

People don't support / like Trump because he's intelligent, funny, moral, strong, or a deft political mover with great new ideas. They like him because he's The Activator the messiah who will say the world, declare a code Q and magically convert 1 million of (3) into (1) starting the revolution. This is a canon event in the soteriology of the MAGA-sphere.

If you didn't realize after Kirk this isn't happening, you are an idiot. Trump will follow all applicable rules and regulations, largely keep the US on the same course it has been, have a lackluster 3 years, then step down so a democrat can win in 2028. Group (1) will eventually replace you because the rabid wheel gets the grease and there's still liberal whites in South Africa.

The problem with the American conservative movement adopting anti-immigration rhetoric is that it is entirely funded by people who benefit from mass immigration and who will never do anything to slow it down.

Immigration now serves a dual purpose for people like Thiel and Musk. It provides serfs who drive down wages, drive up property values, and who make any real class-based solidarity very difficult. It also gives them an endless source of low effort, highly effective propaganda that keeps dumb white rubes in line.

All they have to do is turn routine deportations into a sadistic media shitshow and miggers lap it up.

The blacks got conditioned over many years of no consequences to be this violent. If George Floyd would have happened during the Slavery Era, the Blacks would have the same demure legalist attitude as your current Trump supporters.
So what I'm trying to say is that Trump supporters are like Slaves, but it's not actually an inherent trait. They got carefully groomed to be useless, they can get groomed out of it.

No one gave a shit about Kirk's death long term because there are no democratic martyrs who die under democratic regimes. There will be no reichstag fire and the American right has made sure of this because a political shift on par with Hitler's rise to power would be bad for the 1%. It would hurt their profit margins.

I agree with you. Only thing I'd add is arguably the pacification of whites goes back way before that.

Deifying Kirk was such a bizarre move in hindsight. Three months before he got shot most of the rabid MAGA guys would have not even liked Kirk that much. In online circles he was kinda just known for getting shit from Fuentes for cucking on Israel.
It was genuinely shocking that a milquetoast podcaster got his head blown off on live TV, but people don't talk like he was a random moderate. What little I've seen of his wife after the initial eulogy is unimpressive at best or unsettling at worse.

That's exactly the point. When I heard of the statement of the shooter "I had the opportunity to take out Charlie Kirk" I actually had to laugh. It's such a ridicilous thing to say, it's like "I had the opportunity to take out Spongebob Squarepants". Like What the Fuck Charlie Kirk was a total softie, completely harmless youth figure. I can get why people get annoyed at him, but never angry to the point of hatred. But because he was so harmless and the act so out of proportion and evil, he would have been the perfect cause to clamp down on leftists.
It was the perfect chance, handcrafted by God with love, and Trump just pissed it away. Once again the Lefties got away with it, without even as much as receiving a blue eye.
With Trump, that's just how it works, he didn't do anything about George Floyd riots either. But he did start a war with Iran, no provocation necessary here!

Like "the left" isn't an organization you can be hard on or lenient on, track membership of, or negotiate with the leaders of.

There's no through-line that connects the United Health CEO shooting, the Kirk assassination, the BLM protests, and that one tranny that shot up a Canadian village.
There is no "The Left" that's doing these things. It's just a generic worsening of social conditions resulting in increased criminality. It's the same phenomenon that has happened in 100s of societies before our own.
If you could magically decrease all rent, energy and food costs by like 30% and shut the internet off 3 days a week you'd probably see a huge decline in such incidents. They aren't really political.
The left just traditionally identifies with the worlds poor and downtrodden more than an already stable middle or upper class, which tend towards milquetoast conservatism.

Also in case anyone is unaware the latest Trump shooter booked a hotel room 2 months before the event that at the time Trump probably wouldn't even show up to. Also Trump's goons are now using it as an excuse to try and get people to stop talking about Trump wasting money on the ballroom. Everything has gotten too predictable it isn't even fun anymore.

"The left" is a boogeyman. The fact that marxists and milquetoast democrats are both "the radical left" should show you it's always been a boogeyman. Years ago right wing pundits bemoaned "nazi" being used as a perjorative for anyone right of the center. Like with both sides of american politics, however, they are the same and thus the right has developed a perjorative for their enemies. Except right wing politics rely on fear and hatred, and so now you have this vague boogeyman of "The left" that draws a non-existant through line between discord tranny child rapists, vigilantes who oppose the 1%, and the democratic party. And while some of the groups lumped into "the left" may agree on certain ideals, the idea that democratic politicians supported Luigi Mangione's actions is misguided if not utterly retarded and blind to reality.
