This is basically true though? Every single fish that didn't have a shitty personality and even some that did, who actually seriously give content creation a shot for more than 3 months are sitting at like 50-100 viewers which is far higher than minimum wage and all have instagrams with decent follow counts.

The thing is the way he talks about it versus the reality are two different things. Usually whenever people talk about escaping the wave slave lifestyle they also mean while making a respectable wage. You may no longer be a wage slave but now you make slightly more than minimum wage and have to pander to on of the worst fanbases in the world who will now have direct influence on your income. You may not be “famous” as a janitor or working at a donut shop but the money will be similar and have a lot less risk of just drying up overnight. He is a modern freak show host acting like he is some sort of NEET savior.

I don't think you have to pander nearly as hard as people make it seem, Josie isn't heiling and pouring milk on herself daily. When these people leave the tank they have an audience no matter what, its up to them what they want to make of it. If Landon left the tank and started streaming Sim Drifting or something 24/7 and was really passionate about it then people would pay attention for the first few weeks and then its up to him to make it interesting.
This is just describing any kind of small business though, yeah you trade stability for a potentially infinite(compared to waging) income.
