It's just funny watching the Posobiecs and Thernovich's trying to sit on the fence with this because Trump was obviously correct in going after them, because they are calling him a pedo and stabbing in the back. always good to have one anyway. beyond reciprocity purposes you can often carry in more places with a permit (places that serve liquor for example, even though you're not allowed to drink), you also let law enforcement know that by having a valid permit you were able to pass all the background checks and clear all the other hoops. you are what is referred to as a "good guy with a gun".

There's also no ATF wait/background check in many (all?) states if you have a CCL. You still have to fill out the 4473 but you don't have to wait.
