Here's my best guess: Aaron gifted it to Kayla because he genuinely wanted to make her happy, and he ended up parting ways with her in the end. Nick insists that Aaron never actually fucked Kayla, and the dabblers seem to accept this based solely on their hatred for Aaron. I don't think Nick ever directly denied that Aaron fucked Kayla, I think he just does his standard misleading but true bad faith argument technique (Nick himself coined a good name for it but I forgot)

He'll obviously never say the true statement "Aaron fucked my wife" but he'll publicly deny when people saying things like "you stood and watched as Aaron fucked Kylie".

He knows that this LOOKS like he's denying that Aaron fucked Kayla (even though Aaron absolutely did), but he's actually specifically denying that Nick stood and watched (Nick never literally stood and watched, he was likely either lying in the bed at the time or in another room where he couldn't watch the sex) and he's also denying that Aaron fucked someone named Kylie (Nick's wife is named Kayla, not Kylie. Neither men know a Kylie).

That way he can imply in bad faith that Kayla never fucked Aaron for the dabblers without technically lying, because he never actually denies the statement that Kayla and Aaron had sex.
