I hate to cite Reddit, especially a post that sources its information from Discord, I do feel compelled to share this post about the possible Mii cap for Living the Dream.

Basically, dataminers have said that the save data for LtD has enough slots for up to seventy miis. And to make matters worse, that's not even a guarantee that we'll get 70, because there are (I'm paraphrasing, I don't recall the exact numbers) 525 slots for food items, but only ~500 foods, so the Mii count could be on a similar boat. I saw some speculation it might end up being 64, since that'd make for eight houses of eight miis each.

Could the number be higher in the release version? It's certainly possible, but personally I'd say it's very unlikely. It's bad form to change how save data is structured after the fact, and there's meant to be parity between the demo saves and the full version saves. It is also worth noting that in another post (which I can't seem to find, so trust me bro) that the game can handle up to 256 Miis before it stops functioning, so that's perhaps a bit promising?

I dunno, I have precious little faith in Nintendo, so I would not be surprised if we get yet another fuck up and have a Switch successor to a pair of games for the DS and 3DS that can't even come close to matching the Mii cap.

Also, absolutely seething at the dipshit who wrote that post. "Here's why getting a lower quality product doesn't actually matter." Yes, let's keep lowering our standards while paying more in an industry that continually gets away with giving worse and worse products to consumers. Total Nintendrone Death.

Sorry to double-post, but it's been confirmed on Nintendo's Japanese Tomodachi Life site. The mii limit is 70.

Thirty less than the original Tomodachi Collection for the DS could handle. Amazing. Thirty of my incredibly autistic OCs will have to be relegated to a second island. *sigh*(For those who don't know, each user profile on the Switch has its own TL island unlike Animal Crossing or something, so you could theoretically have a total of 560 miis on your switch divided among the console max of eight users.)

Also very worth mentioning is that married couples regardless of gender can have babies. We have confirmation that the miis can get boypreggers. I knew Poofesure had idly wondered during one of his TL how babies would work in Living the Dream with non-straight couples, so I guess we have confirmation now that all married couples can have kids. I am a soulless monster who plays with babies turned off, so it doesn't affect me, but I can't help but hope the dialogue will be slightly different in those cases like "we were thinking of adopting a baby" as opposed to "we were thinking of having a baby." Just glossing over the clear biological incompatibility there is too weird for me

Is that actually 255? As in 0-256? It's a byte storage limit. Maybe someone else can explain it better than me. But a lot of games can have 255 max of something you aren't supposed to have 255 of. I used to do this all the time with the Wild Arms item duplication glitch. This doesn't mean that 256 miis can wander around the island. But we'll have to wait and see what happens when someone inevitably breaks the game for lolz.

Right, I didn't think that the in-game cap would necessarily go that high in practice, but that- according to the dataminers- it could've hypothetically been significanty higher than 70 without the game outright refusing to function (though, that's a foregone conclusion sadly now that the mii limit has been revealed.) The foods and treasures are in the same boat- a certain amount of "slots" were reserved even though in practice, a fair number of them were left empty. And I'd guess that the dataminers tested that on a PC that's likely much stronger than the switch- so even if the game's infrastructure could support up to 256 miis, I doubt the actual console could handle that unless well over half of the miis were relegated to the indoors at any given time.

Oh, and in case anybody is wondering, the FAQs indicates there're no differences on the Switch 2, so the cap is 70 there, too

Some people noted a lag in dream sequence on the Switch 2 which I have but I didn't apparently the game is capped at 30 FPS. I have my old 2017 switch. I was going to test it but I restarted it.

I literally just found out about the nonbinary bullshit. I am super MATI over this because I was looking forward to the game. I hate, HATE seeing Nintendo kowtow to this bullshit. I don't care about gay marriage; whatever. People being gay is a thing that exists. Nonbinary is not. If they kept it as "other" like in Japanese, that would be one thing, with the context that it was for robots and such. But "nonbinary" is a politicized term. It is literally kowtowing to the gender mafia.

I may not get this game now. Yes, I am butthurt and MATI over something stupid but I don't want my money to support this ideology!

Gay couples can also have kids… have fun with that knowledge.

Was looking for the latest updates and saw that the game has pre-order bonuses for UK, Spain, Japan, and South Korea but nowhere else. Fuck Americans, I guess.

Yeah but it’s not anything that good. like what we’d get… post it notes? A singular coaster for a drink? I don’t even know what to do with the hamster costume.

New vid drop. Featuring bootleg himiko toga. Hope you can assign fixed jobs could be a little feature

I do believe without the sharing feature people will get burnt out
I had a look at the Japanese trailers for the game and saw that Miis can be shared locally, but not long-distance over the internet. It's better than nothing, I suppose.

It seems you can share custom created items too. That makes sense.

"A Mii has been sent" "Received Anne"

I apologise if this is already known. I haven't seen/remembered it being mentioned anywhere.

I mean we were told that in the American Trailer. I guess I have to go to conventions and see what I can get. It's kinda like Streetpass in a way. But not really. Did anyone make any miis in the Demo.

I did but they’re all family. I cant wait to show some of the funnier ones
they cultivated this audience. Ofc it’s name is strawberry and has a doodle of a cat
+ her mii looks like isabelle so a dog.
looking forward to seeing more of this, you should have a personified Gunt as a resident.

Games leaked online downloading to seee it rq
Can confirm, torrent was posted on /v/ a few hours ago. Switch emulators are working fine and dandy.

First impressions are slow-going, but relaxing. For some reason adding more Miis is gated behind arbitrary tasks. Can't make a fifth Mii until my third and fourth islanders become friends.
