The pope would disagree chud

EDIT

Ah I was late!
I finally understand why my father thought the Pope was a sham. Those who read the Bible know that God absolutely believes there are periods where conflict is needed, even if it's never the desired solution. The Pope isn't a servant of God, but simply a cushion for the Catholic Church members to be told they're right. Catholics deserve better.

Old news, bud.

Trump: "Maybe we take Kharg Island, maybe we don’t. We have a lot of options," He added, "It would also mean we had to be there [in Kharg Island] for a while."
He also implied that no ceasefire will be reached until all remaining targets have been eliminated, which, at our current rate of hitting around 500 targets a day, should conveniently take practically the same amount of time as the remaining days in his power station ultimatum.

Eurokiwis.... response?

Wait, you're a Brit?!?!? All this time posting here telling the US how we should be doing our thing? And you're British? Admitted cowards consider you an even bigger coward.

British people talk about American politics because America influences their country more than their own elected officials do, and Americans have at least the passing chance to influence the direction of their country.

As a protestant this is what really bothers me about Catholicism. It's all about ritual and procedure. What does it matter if you do some ceremony in the Church of the Holy Sepulchre? Does God not know you're worshipping him and honoring his death unless some special ritual happens at the place tradition says Jesus was laid to rest/resurrected? It's meaningless. Is the Israeli government restricting any other places of Christian worship during holy week? Who cares.
Its not about the rituals per se so much as what they represent. Does God care about the torches being lit in this specific place at this specific time by this specific person? Almost certainly not. But its not really about what god cares about and more about what Man cares about. The rituals are not for God, they are for Humanity. They are our way of tying the current generation in the now with the generations of the past and the generations of the future. Just as our ancestors did this a thousand years ago, so now shall we do it, and so shall our descendants do it a thousand years from now.

The thing Protestants don't understand about ritual is how the ritual makes the worship of god not just individual and personal, but generational and transcendent. It is a way to capture in a small manner the eternal kingdom of God so that those that come after us can experience the faith in a way that those preceded us did in an unbroken chain.

Its also why its a massive problem for Israel to interfere with these rituals as they are attempting to break the chain. It is not their place to do so. If the chain is to be broken by force, then let it be broken by force, and those who would dare to do so face the consequences for doing so.

reposting what I just posted in that thread:
The pope's opinion =/= doctrine. Lot of people have to understand this about the role of the Pope.
Both the Catechism of the Catholic Church (2309) and the practice of the Church itself has allowed for individuals and states to defend themselves against violence and aggression. The pope’s statement that God will not hear the prayers of anyone who wages war seems to contradict that.
If the word is “initiate“ then the condemnation is against an aggressor in war. But most media outlets have translated this as “wage“ which would be a condemnation of both sides, of literally anyone who participates in war. If it is the latter, then the pope might be carving out a totally new doctrine or teaching at odds with what the Church has taught before. Ultimately we'll have to wait until the Vatican responds to what he was conveying since the media has been quick to take it out of context (surprise surprise).
And regards to the role of the pope and that of war. The Battle of Lepanto was one of the most crucial defining battles of European history, which Pope Pius V acting as the orchestrator of the Holy League who confronted the Ottomans in the largest naval battle since antiquity.

Several peacekeepers were injured after Israeli artillery shelling struck a UNIFIL site near Adshit al-Qusayr in southern Lebanon. UNIFIL later reported one peacekeeper died
Great, I can't wait to never hear the end of this from the fuckin Irish or Indonesians or whatever while they conveniently omit that Hezbollah was firing rockets from their compound.

reposting what I just posted in that thread:
That's a lot of fucking words to say "Here's an excuse for the elderly gay pedophile in charge of my church shooting his stupid gay mouth off."

Odd that he did not make such clarifications in his heretical statement.

i don't follow my local news closely because i fucking despise them, but so far the talking points seem to be these:

>war bad! such violence, such horror, such bloodshed, very terrible!
>trump is a war mongering madman who starts random wars for no reason all the time!
>trumps reckless cowboy behavior is wrecking the global economy!
>trump is a short sighted imbecile who doesn't understand the consequences of his actions!
>trump is dangerous and insane, he is causing chaos and misery wherever he puts his attention!
>trump is helping russia by driving up the price of oil!
>this energy crisis proves that we need to build more renewables as fast as possible!

I am catholic, but the church is the modern day Pharisees who have lost the plot. They're still important but misguided. I believe the Gospels of Thomas and Mary are more true than not and the early Catholic church snuffed them out from history because they wanted power. A true soul who loves Jesus will find their way to him irrespective of what Christian denomination. Don't get me started on the prosperity gospel faggots pastors who live in million dollar mansions. Protestants have their issues too, but I digress.

It also rich the bitch pope is now holier than thou when they waged war during the Crusades and saved millions from being muslim. They should be cheering this war, not shirking away from it. Would they reject war if catholic were being murdered? Try preaching on the streets of Tehran about the gospel and tell me how that goes for you.

One would think an American Pope would understand the fundamental truth of the conflict we are dealing with. Iran is ruled by an Apocalyptic Shia Muslim cult that thinks they can wage war on the faithful with impunity.

Why? Because there are no Christian nations left. Just a Jewish nation and their pet Goys. The delusion of this world view encouraged by the religious leaders across the west.

Posting it again because it captures the ethos.

The media doesn't understand. The Pope doesn't understand. Hell, the hundreds of thousands of Americans protesting for the Ayatollahs today don't understand. But the American Army, Navy and Air Force do understand. We know what is going on, and we will bring our liberal friends kicking and screaming along for what must be done to make the 21st century safe for the American people.
