I think there probably are talks going on and Iran is bullshitting, let's not forget the flights out of Iran the other day that Israel allowed to happen. Iran currently has multiple factions claiming multiple things. Its like the country has multiple personality disorder.

If he were actually chickening out, he'd be declaring victory, saying objectives are accomplished, and that the new Iranian leader is beautiful and a good friend, etc.
A five-day moratorium that conveniently ends just after the markets close, and additional military resources have been moved into the area, isn't quite the same thing.

Theres multiple parts of the regieme doing different things. The cohesiveness of the regime ruling anything and being unified has probably shattered. That would explain them threatening to target hotels when they have already been doing that.

Theres literally nobody leading the country right now. What we are seeing is factions making different decisions. Some are probably trying to negotiate while others are blowing shit up. Theres no definitive leadership here the chain of command is likely gone.
 
Coulda, woulda, shoulda. I'm at the point where any "negotiations" are probably just an attempt at distraction from both sides.
Trump kicked this whole thing off by claiming he wanted to continue negotiations further, only to blow shit up the next day.
