I wonder what's going to happen to my state, Talarico has a month head start while Cornyn and Paxton fight it out, the current climate favors Democrats, and they did vote more in the primaries. The last one probably could be explained by not skinwalking as Republicans to throw races, but I can't keep thinking about it every day until November.

At least it's not Crockett, I guess.

I hope not. I think if it passed the House, it can pass the Senate.
There's a lot more parliamentary fuckery that goes on in the Senate that does in the House.

The bill has to pass by a simple majority in the House but unless it's passed via reconciliation (which one Senator proposed iirc) it needs 60 votes (which the Republicans do not have) to overcome the filibuster.

It's a really tough uphill battle for the bill and while I do not want to sound like a doomer, I don't think it'll pass.

Thune admitted that the Democrats would remove the filibuster if they ever get in charge again sooooooooooooooooooooooooooo maybe laying the ground work down for the R's to do it first?
My only problem is that he's too much of a coward to do it. And his excuse is he doesn't want to get R's fingerprints all over it, even though LOGIC would say that Dems would immediately do that the first thing they get into office to silence them.

I get that there are people that think the filibuster is important and all, and they don't want it to be broken or overruled. But do democrats really give a shit about that? No, they don't.

JB Pritzker already said they were going to start a purge when they get back into power. How is that not an already obvious enough declaration from them when they say the quiet part out loud? "Yes, we will arrest all republicans and make up charges to have you sent to jail."

They did it under Biden, and they'll go full whole-hog on the lawfare if they win again.

I really, really hope he doesn't succeed Trump.

Can you imagine all that fraud, "age verification" required in all operating systems, bullshit environmental policies, and open borders there could be if he won (or "wins")?
Newsom doesn't stand a chance in the Democratic primary, so that's a non issue. The "age verification at the OS level" law they passed however is going to cause problems. You didn't think that it's just going to affect California? Microsoft, Google and Apple will probably try to sue but if they go along with it to continue doing business in that state, then it's going to affect everyone else. Likely everywhere besides China or Russia(I don't know how they handle localizing their updates). They wouldn't isolate the update to Californians, it's rolling out to everyone, president Newsom or not.

Hopefully they can sue to prevent that BS from impacting all OSes beyond California. This Clown World "age verification" fixation is bullshit.
I feel like the Texas pornhub ban will probably play into this, but I also feel like California OS laws would require every state to be affected. I can only hope it’s ruled unconstitutional

Then why is he ramping up troop deployments in the region? Not like it matters, you guys will cheer it on like you do everything he does

Any state doing that shit, whether it's California or Texas (and yes, both are doing the same shit here) is fucking retarded

Next bit streamer, I want to see some more TND/TTD/TPD on the homefront. At least release more videos of hadjis getting blown up.

For all his problems, and he was an odious (if oddly kino) man, Saddam was secular and wanted fuck all to do with Islamic fundamentalism. The US wanted him gone, though, because he was batshit crazy and trained foreign terrorists all throughout the 90's. The PLO was literally based in Baghdad before the US invaded in 2003.
True until the '90s, then Saddam tried to reinvent himself as a pious (Sunni) Islamist with his Faith Campaign. Added the Takbir (Allahu Akbar) to the Iraqi flag for the Gulf War, built up more mosques even though Iraq's economy had turned to shit & wasn't getting any better, cracked down on 'degenerate' activities and clubs, introduced the use of old-school Islamic punishments like chopping off hands & heads, the whole nine yards. Hell, that sandnigger even wrote a Quran in blood (either his own, that of his enemies or a mix of both), creating a hilarious bind where although the creation of said copy of the Quran with blood was a blasphemous stunt & regarded as such by Islamic scholars, destroying any copy of the Quran - even this one - would also be blasphemy, thus it couldn't be burned after the Iraq War and had to be moved into storage instead.

IIRC much of ISIS's backbone were Sunni insurgents from a Baathist background who were first introduced to hardcore Islamism under the Faith Campaign.

Silicon Valley hates anonymity. No big tech company is going to fight this.

Meta is actually lobbying for most of these laws. Microsoft will just use it to further enforce the "No local account" push, and Apple and Google are going to be more than happy to enforce a dob field on their existing account registration requirements. Even corporate Linux is happily bending the knee. All of them have incentive to know and track who you are more closely.

Best case solution, a state affected by the change sues California on behalf of its citizens in "defence" of their personal information. Something along the lines of "my constituents, the people of X, are not Californians and don't consent to have their private information collected at the behest of the California legislature". They would need to go through the Constitutional court. The 1st, 4th and 14th amendments would all apply here and there's precedent in the supreme court to knock this bill down if they're willing to try.

Which is why they are so afraid of voter ID. They know if Trump was able to win the popular vote being the polarizing figure he is, that they won't win again for at least a decade.
Trump won the popular vote for the first time in 20 years. There are people who flat out refused to vote for him just because they didn't LIKE him as a person. I imagine Vance will do quite well in 2028.

The last thing bossman jack said to me before he was arrested was "never let the sacred borders of Iran be violated by the children of Abraham".

Then he said in an uncomfortably loud voice "HASTA LA VISTA BABY" and disappeared in a flash of light.
