In a surprise move the Liberals have just introduced a bill that mandates ALL ELECTRONIC DEVICES SOLD, USED OR DESIGNED FOR CANADA must have the ability for government agents to access remotely. Also all ISP's are here-by instructed TO MAINTAIN ALL RECORDS FOR A MINIMUM OF 1 YEAR.

That's right, your phone, your car, your fridge, your smartwatch. EVERYTHING can now be used by the Feds to see what your doing, when your doing it and where you are. The ISP's will have to record everything site you visit, every request you make and they will have to save that data for at least a year and then just hand it over to the Feds without a warrant anytime they ask.

Here's a quick breakdown of the new law;

Confirmation of service demand: The bill would require internet and phone companies to tell authorities whether they provide a service to a particular person or account number.

Subscriber information production order: The legislation would allow authorities to obtain subscriber information from telecommunications companies, such as names, addresses, phone numbers and services provided.

Securing access to information: The bill would require key telecommunication service providers to develop and maintain technical capabilities aligned with international standards so that they are able to respond to requests from police and CSIS quickly and accurately.

Under the bill, the government would have the authority to make regulations requiring that electronic service providers develop and maintain location tracking capabilities. The bill would also create enforcement tools to ensure compliance and give the minister the power to apply penalties for non-compliance.

RECOMMENDATION

Her Excellency the Governor General recommends to the House of Commons the appropriation of public revenue under the circumstances, in the manner and for the purposes set out in a measure entitled “An Act respecting lawful access”.

SUMMARY

Part 1 amends various Acts to modernize certain provisions respecting the timely gathering and production of data and information during an investigation. It, among other things,

(a) amends the Criminal Code to, among other things,

(i) facilitate access to basic information that will assist in the investigation of federal offences through confirmation of service demands given to telecommunications service providers or judicial production orders for the production of subscriber information,

(ii) expedite the response to production orders by shortening the review process and clarify the ability of peace officers and public officers to receive and act on certain information that is voluntarily provided to them and to obtain and act on information that is publicly available,

(iii) specify certain circumstances in which peace officers and public officers may obtain evidence, including subscriber information, in exigent circumstances,

(iv) allow a justice or judge to authorize, in a warrant, a peace officer or public officer to obtain tracking data or transmission data that relates to any thing that is similar to a thing in relation to which data is authorized to be obtained under the warrant and that is unknown at the time the warrant is issued,

(v) provide and clarify authorities by which computer data may be examined, and

(vi) allow a justice or judge to authorize a peace officer or public officer to make a request to a foreign entity that provides telecommunications services — or that provides services by a means of telecommunication — to the public to produce transmission data or subscriber information that is in its possession or control;

(b) makes a consequential amendment to the Foreign Publishers Advertising Services Act;

(c) amends the Mutual Legal Assistance in Criminal Matters Act to allow the Minister of Justice to authorize a competent authority to make arrangements for the enforcement of a decision made by an authority of a state or entity that is empowered to compel the production of transmission data or subscriber information that is in the possession or control of a person in Canada;

(d) amends the Canadian Security Intelligence Service Act to, among other things,

(i) facilitate access to basic information that will assist the Canadian Security Intelligence Service in the performance of its duties and functions under section 12 or 16 of that Act through confirmation of service demands given to telecommunications service providers and judicial orders against those providers, and

(ii) clarify the response time for production orders; and

(e) amends the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act and the Cannabis Act to provide and clarify authorities by which computer data may be examined.

Part 2 enacts the Supporting Authorized Access to Information Act. That Act establishes a framework for ensuring that electronic service providers can facilitate the exercise, by authorized persons, of authorities to access information conferred under the Criminal Code or the Canadian Security Intelligence Service Act. It also makes related and consequential amendments to the Intelligence Commissioner Act.

Part 3 provides for the parliamentary review of Parts 1 and 2.

So ya, in about 3 weeks CISA will just be able to look up anything you've looked at, be able to look where you've been for the last year and on any device that is legal in Canada. Computer, cell phone, car, any electronic device that is licensed to use in Canada will now have to have a government issued backdoor so they can spy on you.

Kiss any privacy good bye Canadians. Your every step is now going to be watched by CISA. Attend a protest? Your known, Say something anti-government? Your known. Visit a no no web page? Your known. You cannot hide as the devices listed are something every Canadian owns an uses every single day.

Oh but don't worry, Mark Carney has just said that this power will only ever be used to ensure the safety of Canadians and that the government would never ever ever EVER miss used this massive, widespread spying network to track what Canadians are saying.

Take a step back UK cucks, Canada just stole your beer for the most spied up nation in the West.

The worst bit, the very worst bit it that Canada voted for this. They wanted to own Trump so bad they just hand a completely insane group of power hungry autocrats the ability to see and track EVERYTHING they do EVERY DAY.

You asked for this Canada, now enjoy it because there is ZERO you can do to stop it. If you dare to protest it they will know who you are and you will be jailed for it. The limited freedoms that Canadians enjoyed? Gone. Your nothing more then a cog in the GDP machine, speak out and you'll be "replaced".

The corruption never ends in this fucking country, good god

If there's any silver lining to this I guess it'd be that at least they're just completely forgoing anyone pretense of trying not to be blatant with it this go around

EDIT:
Horrifying display of progressive authoritarian over reach
Well, looks like I better pray I can keep from breaking any of my currently owned devices (& also remember to never update any of them ever again) for the next however many years until I can finally get my ass out of this dystopic, liberal shithole

To be fair, this is in line with "Canadian mentality" the average Canadian wants to be babied by the government. MAID is actually a good example of this, libtards are too pussy to kill themselves on their own, so they need the government to do it for them. I swear, if North Korea for some reason loosened it's strict control, I wouldn't be surprised to see North Koreans be more anti-government than Cucknadians. For all of the USA's problems, it's becoming more and more like a North-South Korea divide up here, I'll let you guess which would be which.

It's always so funny how Canadians hate Amerikkka, but also want the same privileges as them. I heard a story where some lib wanted a gun for "COVID anxieties" for some reason, and they flat out expected to buy a gun from a store, just like that. Obviously they were laughed out of the store, but still wild they expected gun laws everywhere to be like the states.

Things like probable cause and warrants are too much of a hassle. Better to presume everyone is guilty and let the feds go through your stuff whenever they want. Boomers will read this bill and kiss Carney's feet for protecting the country from filthy foreigners (Americans, not Indians) spreading hate speech (ideas of freedom from government interference).

With a Liberal Majority fast approaching I think we'll see a lot more gloves off from Carney. We know what he really wants to do and now there is very little stopping him from setting up Canada for the great replacement.

Morbid curiosity pushes me to see just how bad Canada will get in the next 3 years and I would assume the Liberal will win another majority in 2027 as Trump will still be in power and the insanity...no that not the right word, even the insane have some sense of self preservation. The suicidal Liberal supporters will continue to vote in these morons who will completely devastate our country and when the last dollar has been extracted they will move to the US to live comfortable while the rest of Canada is struggling to even put food on the table.

It's nothing but planned destruction and we can see by bill C-22 that they KNOW what is coming and they're taking step to be ready for the food riots and protests that will be part of the crash but my question is and always has been...to whose benefit is this? Whom does the destruction of Canada serve?

Not the Canadian elites, they will go down with the ship as they are small fish on the world stage.

Not the Chinks nor EU who want our goods but a devastated economy can produce nothing.

The US oligarchs don't give a shit, Canada GDP is a rounding error in the game they are playing so it's not them.

The Davos Crew? Maybe but watching Canada burn under the leadership of their star players isn't exactly increasing their standings in the world game.

The sad truth is no one planned this, it happened because the Canadian people are mid wits who elect other mid wits who only think about the short term and so the country burns because there is no one of actual intellect to save it. It's like that movie Idiocracy but there is no protagonist to magically appear and save us from ourselves. There is no stomach anywhere in the country to do what is needed to save us so we all drown slowly as the idiots keep overriding the auto-pilot to ensure we crash into the rocks because they're sure it won't be them on the boat when it finally sinks.

Joe's podcast is the third highest listened to podcast in Canada. Anyone laughing at the idea of Pierre going on is just showing how much of a room temperature IQ retard they are.
People are laughing at them for each using two hands to hold up the dumbell.

Yes Canada is Best Korea (otherwise known as North Korea or the one more likely to Nuke Tel Aviv.

The optimistic part of me wants to hope that as long as you aren’t entirely fucking retarded - ie. blatant fedposting - that we should be fine.

The rest of me is beating my inner optimist with a club, and is expecting a trip to the Leaf Gulag’s for even visiting this site, because Good Lord C-22 is almost comically invasive.

Should Jersh decide to Bongistan us and block Leafistan IPs, it’ll have been an honour to shitpost with you all.

Did they state if C-22 will be retroactive, i.e. they'll jail people for saying something transphobic 20+ years ago?

I think it's a good move personally. I understand why he wouldn't have done it during the election, since it was peak TDS in Canada at that time, but there's no reason he shouldn't go on there. Especially since libs and Redditors will hate him anyways.

Yeah this honestly isn't a bad move from him. Also leads to some fun pokes to be had at Carney's expense because even Harris was willing to sit down with the guy (ignoring all the conditions for it of course) and Carney never will. Naturally will be completely forgotten about in 48 hours because the boomers, progs, and the Lib bot brigade won't stand for anything outside of ELBOWS UP.

The hate speech bill is supposedly going to be implemented as such if I've understood some of the comments I've heard in interviews of related ministers & during HOC sessions, so I wouldn't be surprised

Everyone here should just pretend to be autistic (we're on the farms after all).

My personal "headcanon" is that the EU and China wanted us to be apart of their "anti american axis" but we were too retarded for even them so they just left us out. Also Canadian infrastructure is way to poor to facilitate an invasion of amerikkka either.

I've always found it weird that left-wingers in other countries glaze Canada so much. If Canada was more well known, it would be used by right wing governments to scare people into not voting left. Canada is literally the example of stereotypical leftism, and not matter how true stereotypes are, most people still wouldn't want to be represented by them.

Also the part about Davos is interesting, Canada is honestly way too irrelevant for them to truely care about. Even if they used Canada as a "test run", it would be a statistical error to assume all other countries are as brain-dead as Canada. No doubt Canadian elite is a combination of malicious and incompetent, but incompetence is only punished by a people that's critical of the government

I think American businesses actually do benefit from this (yes this includes Carney's Brookfield). There will be a massive brain drain and movement of capital into america while also keeping the super ideological driven Canadians out. To give you an idea of how bad the brain drain is now, I knew a guy who's ENTIRE CLASS in uni moved to America, not a single one stayed here.

Fun story time: I used to rent the basement of a hardcore Presbyterian grandma while doing my first degree. She and I had a lot of debates about euthanasia, in part because me, being a newly minted high school grad at the time, thought the idea made sense provided we had sufficient guardrails (sound of mind, capable of giving consent, etc.). She always pushed back, arguing that no amount of rational thought could truly lead someone to choose to actively die (e.g. the pain was as big a manipulator of their free will as family/friends/professionals), even before factoring in how God perceives life and your sacrosanct duty to preserve it.

I always took her arguments as misinformed and coloured by religious belief, but the rapidity and degree we've now permitted MAID has fully convinced me euthanasia should be outright banned and any of these politicians and healthcare "professionals" pushing it should be continually whipped and worked in the mines until they drop dead. If I ever meet her again I owe her an apology, because nothing is arguably more illuminating about the illness of the liberal soul than how our leftists deign to treat human life.
For Euthanasia, the problem is that it could be something that limits suffering-

but the key thing is, a lack of suffering or limit on suffering does not necessarily mean it is a "good".

The guardrails argument actually does carry weight, for example- I wouldn't want to be a blind paraplegic with debilitating pain, and if I wanted to opt out, this is one I can understand from a personal perspective because I would not have the ability to take my own life.

Saying that, suicide is the last rung in life, and it should be discouraged and something not conveniently available for the majority of people.

Frankly, its too convenient, and I would argue that for sake of humanity, things may seem dark, but not having that option does force many to continue on, and often to continue onwards to happier days in the future (Ive seen it, and Ive been there myself).

My take on suicide is pretty much the same one Ive had for the past few decades, which is maybe a bad thing (your views should always grow), though perhaps mine have become more entrenched.

If you are going to take your own life, its always in your own power- the state has no control over you. Jump from a very tall building, go to the noose, the shotgun, etc.

Its only really liberals and pussies who want "suicide without risk and with every convenience", just like the life they lived and were made miserable by. Fuck these people, generally. If youre going to commit suicide, have the balls to at least have a good death, if you did not live a good life. You should own both your life, and your death, after all.

Its also something where, youre going to amplify the hurt onto others, so at the least- a suicide thats scary ensures that, while it is still "the easy way out", its not that easy.

Going back though, I am of the opinion that the slippery slope fallacy is true, and why Im generally against legalizing euthanasia is for the reasons above, but also- you just can't trust politicians and the average person/voter. You open that door for that blind, perpetually in pain blind quadriplegic (Enter Sandman), and a few months to years later, you have people demanding suicide be expanded, etc.

Its a line that, theoretically could be made to not be crossed (we allow people to euthanize themselves under extreme circumstances), but I just see it as something which people will always try to expand and where, without a generally "humanism" or "sobered conservatism", theyll eventually succeed (you need to win every time, I need to win but once, says the Devil);

and so, I just don't see euthanasia as something we should be playing with the way we are.

The argument I would make is that we should decriminalize some of the legal framework around suicide, but not legalize the practice. If someone tries to commit suicide by jumping from a building and lives, there shouldn't be criminal charges, etc. Saying that, we ought to treat it as other countries such as Portugal or Switzerland treat drugs- heavily incentivized therapy, etc. Maybe you do need a criminal aspect to enforce that, but I just know that the state should not be involved in administering lethal doses of anything, nor should any private practitioner, etc. There are extreme cases with people such as "Doctor Death" who perhaps we should explore further in court, but this would be a general framework Id have, frankly.

Wasn't he recently calling out mass immigration for being a rich person scheme? He really likes being way too late with saying and doing election things a year after the election and four years before the next one. Doubt he's going to survive that long. I will still give this a listen however.
My mom heard about this and said "Look at him going on manosphere podcasts".

Poilievre is this blank canvas that all the cucked lib faggots in Canada project their anti-Trump fantasies onto. He could cure cancer and make everyone in the country a millionaire and they'd still just accuse him of being "like, I dunno... unlikeable". I have never heard a single criticism of him from anyone centre/centre-left that didn't boil down to simply a personal grievance or abstract issue but for some reason that's enough to default to the hunchback of Lauren Tien.

The easiest and simplest method of applying whether people are being reasonable or not would be: if the Cons were in charge and whatever was going on was going on, what would the reaction be? The answer is always, outrage and non-stop kvetching. The country is an embarrassment and the fact people keep letting Carbon Carney off the hook on everything imaginable like long-term vapourware agreements, cucking to CCP, and failing to understand how to deal with Trump is painful to say the least.

With draconian surveillance legislation like this, you would hope to be safer from crime but you won't be. It's still going to explode you just can't talk about it or anything else about the government without a visit from the RCMP or Provincial police.

All true, but there's something "not likeable" about him and in leadership politics that matters. 20 point lead up in smoke to some shadow globohomo sub-creature that hadn't lived in Canada for 20+ years and is an actual right-wing villain. The white retarded boomer looks at PP and says "here's a guy that's sounds like he's about to end my good time". PP is a great critic but might be time to find someone else. Preferably not the Russian-Jewish deputy leader that spends the majority of her time bemoaning muslims, not for being dirty muslims who don't belong here but for daring to protest Israel & zionism. And that's another brutal unforced error as this is probablly the worst time in history you could have a Jewish chihuaha constantly barking away for the defense of Jews and Israel at your side.
