I'd ask a simple question: what exactly do you want from us? Do you want us to be involved in every American operation, or do you want us to focus on the North Atlantic region so you can divert your Europe forces to other places where they are needed? Or do you want us to both assume full responsibility for containing Russia and also supplement US operations all over the world? Because if it's the latter, then that just sounds like a role-reversal from where we were before.

You also had the US getting ready to mass-produce V1 and V2 bombs, the B-36, the B-47, the P-80, and the majority of the European allied forces sitting around in Europe, ready to be shipped over. We took one look at Iwo Jima and decided that the only way to finish off the Japanese would be to fucking massacre EVERYONE. I mean, look at what the USA/UN forces did no more than 5 years after the end of World War II in Korea, and that's AFTER we demobilized, scrapped and mothballed a majority of the military (fun fact, the US government was so unprepared for Korea that we actually took tanks out of museums and memorials at one point).
You left out the part where P-47's were being equipped with gas canisters for "irritant dispersal", and that written at the top of Japan's defense plan for the Home Island was "DO NOT GIVE THEM AN EXCUSE TO START GASSING US". We came within a cunt's hair of gassing holdouts on Okinawa, confident that the Japanese had no means of effective reply since their gas mask seals lacked resistance to mask breaking compounds, and they knew it.
