Agree, but I'm just happy that the horror genre seems to be gaining a little bit more respect. Weapons should've at least been nominated for original screenplay too. It's absolute kino that Aunt Gladys won; I figured that award would go to the shitty, boring mom character in OBAA.

Jesse Plemmons should've been nominated for Bugonia BTW.

Even if they pretend to be unbiased or high art or whatever, people can see through it. This is just elites jerking each other off. No shade on PTA but one battle was chosen cause maga bad, not cause it's particularly good which I suppose it is. I know oscars has lost relevance and shit but as a kid who grew up on them being the awards show of the year, it's sad to see. I remember when birdman won best picture, sorta controversial but very deserved. I also remember when the green book won and it was so controversial, more organically controversial than the parasite debacle which was manufactured. There were legitimate accusations of racebaiting and the oscars being racially biased towards such a mid movie. Now they just leaned into it. Well I know at least one child sacrifice and 10 molestations happened at the after party.

The only consolation is Frankenstein and even chud F1 and Avatar blew Sinners the fuck out in techs. Setting a record for most nominations and then limping home with only four (one of which was for a cinematography win the academy was desperate to finally award to a woman before the 100th ceremony) is a pretty measly showing.

Still had a shitty Marxist agitprop slop rife with PTA's black woman fetish win Best Picture, and the worst part by far was Jimmy Kimmel's toddler-like desperation for Trump to notice him. How Hollywood libs can genuinely feel like they're the most oppressed class when there are people in other parts of the world getting killed for faggotry or not covering their hair is abominable.
 
As soon as Michael Black Dude won, the live translator for LatAm said that it was not true that Chalamet lost due to his comments about Ballet and Opera because the votes were cast before it. It was very random.

I remember when the order of awards was actress before actor. Actress is now before best movie because the future is female.

When you're used to comfort, disagreement can be life threatening. I don't think these people have ever suffered enough, they wouldn't be like this if that was the case. Suffering absolutely builds character. Conan has always been the only admirable guy in the Hollywood elites circle.

I also noticed that last year’s Best Actress would present this year’s Best Actor. I haven’t seen the show now, but they stopped that tradition last year, if not sooner.
 
I remember reading on crazydaysandnights that Gwyneth Paltrow and Jennifer Lawrence won their oscars via sleeping with Harvey Weinstein. And he openly took the Oscars (in general) very seriously.

Anyways, yeah, don't lose sleep over this. Shit is rotten and corrupted. Has been for a long time.

One thing's for sure, tonight just marked the end of the right's short-lived cultural relevance. The next few years will be one leftist victory after another (pun not intended) while what's left of Trump's support base flails around calling anyone who sees the writing on the wall a panican doomer libtard.

I wouldn't say that's completely the case, people are still gonna hate on niggers and trannies and no amount of elite circlejerking is going to change that. It didn't change shit back 3 years ago. But the right has definitely lost populist cultural support, with the neocon shit trump pulled. I don't want to sperg too much about the Jews in the oscars thread so I will say, oscars don't change shit and people knew they were biased, we just didn't know they were so blatant. For the one or two oscars black panther won in 2019, it would've sweeped the show if it released now.

In a way OBAA came at the perfect time, It was, in essence, the left asserting its absolute dominance over the industry while the right collapses beyond repair thanks to the disastrous Trump administration leading us into another forever war in the Middle East while not a single antifa member faces punishment for their actions.

You are going to see a lot more Charlie Kirks by the end of 2026. Some will probably be self-inflicted.

If anything positive happens from the Oscars is that I can finally stop hearing that Conan was "the last good late night host." He's had TDS since he sperged out about Trump calling Haiti a shithole. It was and it still is.

Sinners ended up with the most losses of any film- 12, a new record. That’s what can happen when you get the most noms.

Jordan won in part because they had to give Sinners something noteworthy to not completely embarrass themselves for overnominating it, and they can’t reward Chalamet yet even though he’s the only actor of his generation to both put asses in seats and get critical acclaim. He knows it, they know it and the industry both loves him and hates him for it. They’ll keep edging him with the opportunity to win, continuing to use his presence for ratings and hype and snatch the carrot back last minute.

Weirdly that’s the plot of Marty Supreme. This whole season has basically been a humiliation ritual for one of the only stars who can make money.

Just watched Sinners after seeing Michael B Jordan won for best actor. Don’t really see what was so great about his performance. Tom Hardy was far better playing the Kray Twins in Legend. Still a good movie overall.

Thing is, Michael B. Jordan ain't a bad actor. And Oscars don't rewrd the best actor, but the best performance. Mo'nique won an Oscar because she gave a superb performance in Precious, even when the rest of her work is mediocre. Sometimes, they even give a "reparation" award to amend for previous snubs. Did MJB deserve the award? Maybe, but personally I feel it sour because he spent the past two weeks playing the victim versus a guy with a mental condition he can't control.
