Anyway, gold has inherent utility in all sorts of applications. This is like saying if everyone had as much food as they need food would be worthless. No it wouldn't. It wouldn't have a great deal of market value but the effect on society would be profound and the whole system would be better off even if the fiat currencies were adjusted to offset it. That's the difference between wealth and currency.
