The reasons are very clear, to destroy the nuclear weapons, that Iran doesn't have because trump destroyed them in only 12 days months ago in a conflict that made further conflicts unnecessary so that this isn't even actually happening and isn't real, we have to bomb Iran. We are doing this so that they don't hit the Twin Towers with long range nuclear missiles which is why we need to destroy their short range conventional ballistic missiles so that they can't bomb Tel Aviv who did start the war by preemptively defending themselves from an attack that didn't happen but actually Trump started it against Israeli wishes and thus opened them up to the current brutalizing retaliations from Iran. We also now have to ensure the Strait that isn't closed is opened so that oil we don't need and is actually only going to our rivals in China and only benefits them can flow again. Also we need to be racist and defeat the mudshits once and for all but also to import the brown heroes who help us bomb school girls who the Iranians don't actually let go to school or hold high paying jobs despite holding more of those positions than in America and we have to be based and racist by decrying Iran as a racist regime hurting brown minorities and if you oppose this you're cucked and probably fuck niggers so stfu and help us sign persian and jewish girls up for race mixing promoting onlyfans.
 
People in the other thread - mostly @Ghostse - are pushing the death cult talking point, they keep playing up the 12th Imam aspect by portraying Iran's strikes as some Despensational-esque attempt to bring about the end times like American Evangelicals sending red heifers to Israel. As an ex-Durka I can say with relative confidence that Despensationalism or other such theology that's linked to accelerating the coming of the Rapture/Messianic return isn't anywhere in Shi'ism. If anything, there's a reason that stuff like this is primarily associated with American Evangelicals who laud the Jews as the chosen people.

It kinda seems like Iran is still holding together pretty well. There may not be a civil government, but the IRGC is keeping up attacks on Saudi oil infrastructure. Which is leading to opec nations putting economic pressure on the US and our Greatest Ally to start wrapping this up. Oil is on its way back up, just short of $90 a barrel which is +$30 since this kicked off.

Just weeks after Haji-Sadgehi’s speech, on March 2022, the IRGC released a publication on the militaristic concept of Mahdism, entitled “Waiting means that we must prepare ourselves for soldiering in the army of Imam of the Age.” The IRGC has redefined waiting for the reappearance of Imam of the Age as being about proactively preparing to aid Mahdi establish the rule of justice throughout the world (entezar-e faraj). Based on Khamenei’s statements on the “duty of those waiting,” this is not about “sitting down and mourning” — a cultural custom in Shi’a Islam — but about being on a “war footing” (amadeh baash).
