Tony Khan has a greater appreciation and deeper respect of wrestling than Vince Russo, but they both have the same problem when it comes to putting television together, that being that they're both mainly interested in the highlight moments of wrestling history. Plus you have a level of fanboyism from the wrestlers themselves now, or at least it's more prominent than it used to be thanks to social media, (the marks are in the ring) so now you can end up with pissy talents because they don't have the belt. Older promoters who had been around a while usually weren't as afraid to tell the boys no if it didn't make sense for a story or event or if they had something else lined up that suited their vision better

I look at people like Rhea Ripley and Ricochet and I say to myself they're on TV touring around the world getting paid a LOT to fake fight with people once a week. Are they really going to let some random troll on twitter or some fat guy named JD on youtube dictate your emotions like that?
That makes you an emotional jobber. Their emotions will just lay down with anyone who gets in the ring with them. Ricochet makes me laugh so hard. He will melt down on Twitter for hours fighting with people who go "lol fucktard". Look at all that money in your bank account that you got from wrestling, watch a viral video of fans chanting bald while you wrestle Cesaro and have your wife announce your penis in the Chelsea Green voice right before you put it inside of her and then call it a night.
Why is he arguing with people on fucking twitter at 2am instead of doing that?
 
After seeing more Danhausen clips from last night, I am officially a fanhausen.

Yes, he is tiny and crap in the ring, but god damnit he's hysterical and a great character. Wrestling isn't just in-ring shit, it's also the characters and he's amazing at that. They're not having him go over bigger guys, so they're using him well

Because they're in a platform and he prefers to whine & not stfu instead of training. Also, it seems to be a standard that AEW should have drama for exposure.

I can't respect wrestlers who act tough yet get their jimmies rustled for even an online high-school insult from some anon.

Thank God the internet was essentially a non-entity until the early 2000's and the people we watched on tv were raised differently and without the ills of modern times. Imagine how different wrestling would have been and how lame it would have been to look back on if AOL was what xitter is today and Kevin Nash was going back and forth with putthestrapongoldust4201998 over getting called Big Gayxy after taking the title off of Goldberg.

as someone who likes Roman and Punk I can almost guarantee that there will never be another fanbase of a specific wrestler more rabid then those two, that’s kind of why i’m excited for the main event this year, no more who wins there will be SEETHING stans

I can imagine if the rabid online wrestling community existed back in 1995, there will be more altercations between ECW/WCW/WWE fans and the wrestlers themselves.
