It's a form of self-soothing, they can't deal with their budget reality and yet they know it's fucked, so they distract themselves with consumerism.

A big part of the fear is not KNOWING how fucked they are; if in a similar situation, forcing yourself to sit down and actually budget what money you have and where it is going makes you know JUST how fucked you are, which is actually really empowering, if you want it to be.

Vegas, when under mob control, was fun. So long as they were making money things were cheap. You drop $500 on blackjack and the Pit Boss would buy you dinner. It was the time of $0.99 shrimp cocktails and $2.99 breakfast buffets with a hundred different options.

Now you go to a resort and order a drink it's $40 AND that's not taking in account "resort fees".

The regular folk are gambling at Indian(feather, not dot) casinos that are everywhere these days. What Gree should be doing is taking his brothel dreams to California or Arizona and convince the Indians to allow it on their land.

Better payouts from what I understand as well.

Can't say for sure but a buddy of mine hits one every few weeks and says the odds at Indian casinos are better than the ones in Vegas.

I learned more from watching Matlock with the sound muted in a bar than Russell did in his whateverthefuck 2 year degree. I wouldn't trust him in the fuckin mailroom. I actually learn negatively from reading the shit he puts out. Posters' analyses in these threads and Hardin's balls-deep eviscerations of Russell's legal vomit is nevertheless illuminating. But mostly I learned NEVER GET SUED. Just five minutes reading Greer's horseshit makes me quietly go insane. I couldn't do this shit for one day let alone 5+ years like Moon et al. are doing.

FWIW I cautiously think Crusty'll ultimately lose the GvM suit, but it won't be a happy ending.

The key is that we can't do it, hell, even Ricky P Tomlinson can't do it, because we have something to lose and eventually the court or countersuit crawls up our ass and dies.

But if you're judgement-proof like Russ or Stebbens (and somewhat but not really like Melinda) you can just keep being a fucking nuisance.
