Allegedly a 747 burning on the tarmac at Mehrabad airport in Tehran

Does anyone have that shitty ai propaganda photo of Iran claiming to have shot down a B2 and it's like 1/4th the size the real one is

For any military kiwis here, is it stupid to still try to apply for the military in a year from now with everything going on?
If you really want to join, then do so, the nation actively being at war or not should not factor into your decision. If all you really wanted was to serve your one contract during peace time, skate by, get out and collect your bennies, then fuck off. There's enough people like you in uniform infesting the military already. Go join the coast guard or your local cop shop if you want the ego of wearing a uniform without having to worry about being sent to a war zone.

I'm talking about the tech side of things, not physical combat
If you do decide to join, go with the army. When you enlist with the army, you get your choice of MOS (job title) locked in with your contract before you head off to training.. As long as everything goes smooth with your training, i.e. you don't fail and have to recycle, your contract will stay intact and you will enter service with your selected job. That way you can pick some POG title and be a safe little fobbit (although the results of this conflict so far shows that being a fobbit might not actually be all that safe lol).

If you don't like the army, the navy and air force are also decent options. the navy will lock in a job for you when enlisting, but only for select jobs that they really need filled at the time. The air force has you choose several preferences during enlisting, and they lock you into one of those before you ship off. just DON'T JOIN THE MARINES. the marines pretends to offer you "preferences" when enlisting, but doesn't assign you a job before you ship off to training. then during training they randomly assign you something, usually not from any of your listed "preferences", and usually some flavor of infantry.

I don't think I'd even be qualified for physical combat, or the military in general
If you have certain permanent afflictions, irregularities, or disformities, they may proclude you from being assigned certain job titles, or from enlisting at all. If you just mean you're a fat lard or a skinny lanklet, that's what basic training is for. I also heard they do this new thing where if you're so out of shape that you'd die if they just shipped you off right away, they have you PT with your recruiters for a few months before you ship off to get you in better shape.

Oh and a pro tip, and any recruiters here will really hate me for saying this. If for whatever reason you get cold feet during the enlisting process, you have second doubts about the job title you locked in, you're worried about getting shipped off to war, your recruiter smells funny, whatever it is, just don't get on that damn bus. When the day comes for you to ship off, just don't fucking show up. nothing will happen to you. The recruiters like to lie and say that the oath you make at the MEPS when enlisting is binding, it's fucking not. Until you step on that bus, you are still a civilian and they have no authority over you. if you miss your ship out date, they just tear up your enlistment contract and move on the next potential recruit.

On today’s episode of the China Show, the hosts mentioned that Iran had bought Chinese surveillance equipment and installed it everywhere to police “morality” (e.g. track non-hijab-wearing women). These are the “traffic” cameras that Israel’s Unit 8200 hacked to track the Ayatollah and IRGC members for the past several years.

The CCP is apparently freaked out because they installed the same system across their entire country so it’s highly likely that Mossad and the CIA hacked them as well and tracked every party member’s location. If so, then if they invade Taiwan, the US could effortlessly kill the entire CCP leadership, especially since China’s “anti-stealth” air defense is useless.

I wonder if the CIA and Mossad found and started using the same backdoors the Chinese installed so MSS could spy on everyone who was dumb enough to buy a Chinese camera.

I mean sure it could be AI, but have you considered that they have 15 foot tall Iranian giants?

Yea I'll be honest one of the most shocking things about this conflict for me besides how effortless it was considering they have allegedly gotten near peer support from China and modern systems. is how effortlessly the third world eats up AI content. I never considered it I guess because why do I care about the third world.

Robocalls and stuff got bad enough that as my father got up there with dementia and age I had to sit down my mother and let her agree to me driving him to the bank to close down his debit cards so that he couldn't give them away to the "IRS" ect. The amount of Shaniqua's in the US even that believe this shit is crazy.

I really hope the GOP pushes hard the democrats laughing about not refilling our reserves. High fuel prices should be avoided at any cost honestly so that the midwits don't vote DNC after we have accomplished more for this country in this presidential term then any other in my lifetime.

BRICS? In shambles, Other countries fear us again. We need to keep winning going. I know that the ship insurance and naval escort offfers might help but we need to do anything possible to lower cost of living to make sure we do ok in the midterms.

Really we need to break up our food supplier goyslop monopolies also, but that's for a whole different conversation.

I'm not the most religious man but I say a short prayer each night for our troops and for the first time in my adult life I have hope in our countries future in stead of worry for it's decline.

Why would Israelis want to be back in Israel if its actively being attacked?
Maybe the lowest test comment ever made on the internet anywhere at any time
I am physically disqualified from combat I can still technically be qualified for the tech/IT side of things. I'm physically disabled but I'm still independent, and since this would be a year from now I have plenty of time to teach myself the needed skill sets.
No retard, if you classify as physically disabled you don't qualify for any job in the military - full stop. It doesn't matter if you're independent or not. Just because you're a POG doesn't mean you don't need to meet basic physical standards. Also "teach yourself" nigger there's a pipeline for each job, you do what you're told how you're told to do it. If you want to get paid to think become an officer, and once you become a lieutenant colonel after 10 years you can start having independent thoughts.

Rumors of an impending American ground invasion have gone viral on Twitter.

I just spoke with the mother of a service member in this unit. They were given one last call home before having to turn in their phones. He told his mom the were going “boots on the ground” tonight.
He also told her his commander said they were doing this to bring about the second coming of Christ.
I can also confirm they did not tell them this was a combat deployment until it was too late—everyone was told they were only going to training.
Not saying this is a confirms that the U.S. is invading… just that at least one soldier told their parent this before losing access to all communication.
Although unsubstantiated (Heard from someone else who heard from a soldier), if true, this would mark an escalation in this war.

One likely true portion from this rumor is the apocalypticism among commanders. There are widespread reports of complaints from various soldiers about commanders framing this war in apocalyptic and theological terms.

From Military.com
One complainant, according to Larsen, identified themselves as a non-commissioned officer (NCO) in a unit currently outside the Iran combat zone. However, they are in Ready-Support status where they could be deployed at any moment to join and augment combat operations.

That individual is a self-described Christian who emailed MRFF on behalf of 15 troops that included at least 11 Christians, one Muslim, and one Jew.

That NCO’s commander, described in an email from the NCO to MRFF and shared with Larsen, was described as a “Christian first” member of the military who urged troops not to be “afraid” of what is currently taking place in Iran.

“He urged us to tell our troops that this was ‘all part of God’s divine plan’ and he specifically referenced numerous citations out of the Book of Revelation referring to Armageddon and the imminent return of Jesus Christ,” the NCO wrote in the email. “He said that ‘President Trump has been anointed by Jesus to light the signal fire in Iran to cause Armageddon and mark his return to Earth.’"

The NCO added that the commander supposedly “had a big grin on his face when he said all of this, which made his message seem even more crazy.”

What I'm getting from this is "Have a big-ass tray of snacks ready to go when you wake up in the morning."
Basically. Or eat a bunch during Shabbat dinner (friday night). The whole idea is that you literally unplug, recenter and get closer to God/your family/your kids/your wife/what really matters once a week. Which between you and me is good for everyone, even if you're not a Jew and you choose Sunday as opposed to Saturday and go to church. I think if more people did it we would have a better society.

Say what you want about the Israelis but they know their neighbors and have stronger family values than most Americans (sadly) and the only thing they're doing is unplugging once a week to be offline.

According to my family America use to be like that too, what changed? :(

Pretty normal especially in combat units, it gets people going. I've heard this sort of stuff for short field events. Not crazy at all and not confirmation of a combat deployment. The average military member skews more southern, more rural, and more christian than the average American. Its just an effective way to motivate that sort of population. A speech about Armageddon, God's wrath, and stuff like that is as normal as a motivation poster saying "hang in there" in an office.

First off, no lmao. You aren't going to get to call your parents to tell them you're about to go on a combat deployment for this reason. If it is a combat deployment and the mom ran to the media right away - her son's death will be her fault. Insane breach of trust.

If this is partially true his unit might be doing a spin-up framed as an actual deployment to test readiness or they're going to bases around Iran to re-enforce them and leadership is hyping it up

So the same thing we've been doing since 2022 for NATO countries bordering ukraine? Also, there's always a few battalions designated as Ready-Support in case anything happens in the world, even during peacetime. It just means you're a little more restricted to post and can't really drink.

I also just want to add that most mid-level leadership and soldiers are kept in the dark about a lot of the big picture things that civilians are interested in. Doesn't matter how special their job is or whatever. Being in the military doesn't give you access to information that is outside of the scope of your job, and if you are given access to that information you probably aren't the type to go and spew shit to the media
