On the other hand, the representative of Karbala Governorate, Zuhair Al-Fatlawi, issued details of the "airdrop" that occurred in the Najaf desert, stressing that the information was "from his own sources".
Al-fatlawi said in a statement seen by "The Independent Arabia", "A force believed to be American carried out, with air cover, a rapid landing operation in the Najaf-Karbala desert, southwest"
IraqAt six o'clock yesterday evening, Tuesday, according to what we received, the force entered from the direction of Syria, with a number ranging between four and seven helicopters, accompanied by the deployment of military vehicles of the (Hummer) type in an area about 40 kilometers from Nukhayb.
He added, "A military force from the Karbala Operations Command, consisting of 30 Hummer vehicles carrying Iraqi flags, headed to investigate the news confirmed by Iranian channels, as its circulation coincided with shelling in the Samawah desert and in Anbar, which reinforced the atmosphere of tension and speculation about a security escalation in the region."
The Karbala MP pointed out that "the Iraqi reconnaissance force was subjected to gunfire and aerial bombardment, which led to the martyrdom of a fighter and the injury of two others, with one of the military vehicles damaged."
Al-Fatlawi explained that "the news was issued by Iranian channels, while no precise details have been issued by the Iraqi side or the joint forces confirming or denying its details so far."
The spokesman explained that "the area is located within a sector responsible for Iraqi military formations, and is characterized by a complex geographical nature that includes deep valleys, rocky hills, and sand dunes, some of which reach a height of about 200 meters."
MP Mohammed Jassim Al-Khafaji revealed, today, Wednesday, in a post on his Facebook account, that "a military force from the Iraqi army affiliated with the Karbala operations, numbering about 30 ’military donkeys‘ and with Iraqi flags raised on them, went for reconnaissance and to clarify the position regarding the landing, but it was subjected to air strikes."
Al-Khafaji added that "the bombing resulted in the death of a fighter and the wounding of others," stressing that "American forces consisting of helicopters and soldiers are stationed there."
